POV NORMAL
A luxurious carriage travels through the roads of the demon kingdom of Aüsbal, a northern realm on the coasts. It's a highly populated kingdom, one of the leaders in technological advances on the continent.
Recently plunged into war, a seemingly unwinnable conflict, the current Haser has ordered the relocation of Schutz, Schuder, and Lichudertag to specific locations for their safety.
Among these Schuder is a young boy with brown hair, a bit mischievous, and full of joy, like any child. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka Vanart III, the second son of Ayanokouji Atsuomi Vanart II.
His clothes and status befit a prince: tall brown boots, black pants, a black vest over a dark green shirt, and a black blindfold with golden lines covering his eyes. Quite unusual, especially considering he has no visual impairment.
The carriage's destination is the Maobas mountains, where he'll find refuge under the protection of his uncle, Reiz Hiyu.
The boy remains anxious throughout the journey; it's his first time leaving the royal palace and seeing his uncle.
His father, strict and terse, always repeats the same words, "It's none of your concern. Go and train." Despite the harshness, Kiyotaka understands it's driven by high expectations.
...
Returning to the case, they are nearing the village where his uncle lives. A brief description: short beige hair, honey-colored eyes, slightly tall with black horns and tail.
Demons are distinguished by races, varying in colors or extra limbs. There are a total of 28 variants, often in conflict with each other.
Kiyotaka's kind is called Eastern Demons; Dæmonia Orientalis. Main physical traits include reddish horns and tails, a pointed tail, two medium-sized horns, and slanted eyes. They are adept at resisting temperatures as low as -20°C.
Now, these demons also have a unique affinity for [Ice] and [Lightning].
What's this about magic? Ice and Lightning?
Well, the topic is extensive; a comprehensive understanding would take weeks. But let me give you a brief summary.
Magic consists of spiritual particles present everywhere. It can be manipulated to create magical spells, which may involve various elements, including Ice and Lightning.
That's a concise summary of magic, or at least what is commonly understood as magic, given its varied presentation among living beings.
Back to the young one, he's happily jumping in his seat, taking in the scenic views of the kingdom's territory. They are now passing through a field of flowers owned by a local noble.
How can he see with his eyes covered? Few know, and Kiyotaka is one of them.
They are about to reach Reiz's village. The mountains are only a few meters away.
Standing at 350 meters, the mountains are not just a backdrop; the village is inside them.
The temperature gradually drops, and snowflakes fill the air.
The young Kiyotaka tries to catch snowflakes through the window, failing countless times, resulting in an adorable pout on his face.
Excitement grows within him as they approach his uncle's village. While enjoying the view, a dark shadow covers the carriage, and a soft laugh echoes in the air.
Reiz Hiyu, his uncle, is waiting. The carriage door opens, revealing a man with short beige hair, honey-colored eyes, an imposing presence, exactly as described. Black horns and tail stand out against his figure. Kiyotaka feels a shiver of excitement finally meeting his uncle.
Reiz Hiyu watches with a smile as young Kiyotaka steps down from the carriage, his boots resonating in the snow.
The cold mountain air greets him, but the warmth of his uncle's welcome compensates for any discomfort.
"Welcome, Kiyotaka. I'm glad you're finally here," Reiz says warmly, shaking the young one's hand.
"Uncle Reiz, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Kiyotaka responds enthusiastically, his slanted eyes shining with curiosity as he accepts his uncle's handshake.
The uncle and nephew walk together towards the village's interior. Kiyotaka can't help but admire the peculiar architecture of houses built inside the mountains.
It's like an anthill of demons from different races living in peace and harmony, unlike their counterparts outside.
"I'll show you around a bit and vital areas if you want to live here. But first, let me give you an explanation of the place," Reiz closes his eyes and raises a finger, causing laughter from his nephew.
"Alright, uncle," Kiyotaka responds with a smile, making Reiz lift the corner of his lips, forming a warm smile on his face.
"You see, the village was built to be a hideout for the ancient Kaisers. It's nothing more than a grand royal palace. With the fall of the Kaiser Empire, the ship was abandoned, and many exiles and criminals started settling in the cave to avoid being found by their nations. Over time, people discovered the place and immigrated here, especially in times of crisis and war."
"How did they learn about the place? How did they coexist with criminals?" Kiyotaka asks his uncle, who seems a bit annoyed at being interrupted.
"Ahem... No one knows how they found out. As for criminals, although it was a problem at first, they were either displaced or captured by their respective nations. Let's continue... Now, not long ago, the mountain was a no man's land; there was no government or authority. However, since no one wanted to govern us, we created our own nation, 'The Sacred Order of the Maobas Mountains.'"
"A bit long, isn't it?" Kiyotaka comments with a drop of sweat on his face.
"Well, there are longer ones. Now, the Order is governed by the Lichudertag, Silvan De Jüdderburg. The reason he's in charge is simple: a nation with many immigrants and cultures would be a problem under the rule of any leader. So, there was a meeting where it was agreed that the heirs of Jüdderburg would have jurisdiction over the mountains, but they wouldn't have real power, only dealing with criminals and overseeing Maobas' supplies."
He stops as they reach their destination. Kiyotaka looks confused at the place – a 2-story house.
Luxury emanates from every detail. Its polished stone facade reflects the dim light filtering from the cave entrance.
Wide windows, adorned with silk curtains, allow lamp light to flood the interiors.
"Wow... It's so beautiful!" Excitement taking over, Kiyotaka runs quickly towards the entrance, stopping before entering. "Um, sorry, uncle, I got too excited." He turns to Reiz and bows, looking quite embarrassed.
Reiz simply chuckles at his nephew's enthusiasm.
"He's still a child," he thinks to himself. "Don't worry; now, this is also your home." Kiyotaka smiles and proceeds to enter, eager to explore his new home.
