POV KIYOTAKA
Waaaa.
I had never had a room all to myself. This is awesome, it looks spacious. It even has a terrace, where you can see people strolling through the streets.
Although it's empty, obviously. It only has a bed and a not-so-large wardrobe.
The lamp was exactly like the ones downstairs, emitting a beautiful orange color.
Before, when I lived in the palace, I had to share a room with my brothers Yasu, my younger brother, and Rin, my older brother.
As far as I know, they are scattered all over the continent, safe from enemy nations.
After seeing the whole house, I went down to see my uncle, who was picking up some pots from the floor.
"Oh, I see you've finished," he said, noticing my presence.
From what I can tell, he is a kind and understanding person. He's very expressive and fun, how cool!
"Now that you're here, you should rest. You've had a long journey, and tomorrow your studies and training begin." What!?
"B-but I just arrived. I don't want to train!"
Every day in the palace, I did that. I want a break! This life is too exhausting.
"Kiyotaka, you must know that you have a unique duty. You are of royalty. Being a Schuder is not just a title." He approached the table to place the pots he had in his arms.
"I didn't ask to be a Schuder." I pouted. I don't want to be stuck in the same routine every day for the rest of my life.
"Ah," he sighed before turning around and kneeling in front of me.
He placed his hands on my shoulders and looked at me with a sympathetic face.
"There are things we can't avoid. If we dodge them, it will hurt us more in the future. That's why we must confront what happens to us, even if it hurts us." He touched my cheek lightly and continued, "I can't force you, but you need to know that this will help you become stronger... to confront those problems."
"Umm..." I sighed defeated. I guess this is how I'm going to live. "Okay, uncle."
"Come on, don't get discouraged. It's fun to learn." He stood up and put his hands on his hips. I think he's trying to lighten my mood.
"If you say so." I said disinterestedly.
My uncle started walking towards the kitchen.
"I'll buy you something as consolation," he said without turning around.
"I want chocolate ice cream!" I said with a smile, but...
My uncle turned around quickly. His gaze was no longer warm and friendly. Now it was one of surprise, panic, and... hatred? Sadness?
I can't understand what happened to my uncle. Why did he react like that? Did I do something wrong?...
The few seconds it lasted felt like hours. I can't describe the feeling that had overcome me...
I started to tremble. Yes, I was afraid, very afraid. I moved away slowly from him; I don't like being hurt.
My breathing became erratic; I started to see blurry. I-I don't know what's happening.
