"Here is some more typewriter paper sweetie." Mom places a whole stack of it on my desk. "Did Skylar mail you back yet?"
"No." I say glumly and flipped a page of Harper's Secret by Skylar Black. It had been two weeks since I sent my "fan mail" out and I hadn't received any notification whatsoever. Maybe she just passed her fan mail aside like all the other authors do. My heart felt heavier at that thought.
"When was the last time you checked?" She asked as I hear her picking up crinkled pieces of paper that show my past attempts of writing the perfect letter to my love, Skylar Black.
"Why does it matter?" I mutter as I read page forty-two all over again.
"Because I have a letter from her." Mom replies as she places an envelope on my desk and I immediately jumped out of my bed, which makes the book go flying across the room. Whoops...
"How?" I ask.
"I have my resources." She winks in a direction away from me. I turn to see who she is winking at and saw my step-dad. How did my step-dad retrieve it? He was in the butler business, but he now works for a guy named, Eugene something. I couldn't remember his last name, but I believe its along the lines of Baker.
"Hey, Sammy." He grins at my mother and then looks up a little at me. "And hello to you as well."
"Hi...Jes." I say as unfriendly as I could, but it still didn't faze my step-dad. My step-dad married my mother 2 years ago and has lived with us ever since, but ever since he came in my life, things have been too crowded, which is why I blame him for making us move here. I will also blame him when we move in a few weeks due to his sudden job change with Eugene Baker. Let's just say I blame him for a lot of things.
"We will leave you alone so you can read that note." Jes says as he wraps and arm around my mother's waist and tugs her by it so that they are touching by the hips. "See you at dinner." He chimes and walks out as my mother giggles at his romance, while I gag.
Once the door slams shut, I grab the envelope and ripped it open. A bright white paper was inside so I tugged it out as gently as I could. I fumbled with getting the letter open due to my hands getting sweaty and my heart thudding in my chest.
'Hello secret admirer? I am busy eating Chinese takeout as I write this during my interview break so please excuse me for any errors. Anyways, you answered a few of my mental questions, but not as much as I wanted. I don't know why I am writing back to, well, a five foot nine boy, but yolo.
However, I am still stuck on the fact that you might be a old guy trying to kidnap me with beautifully typed words and a not so bad character, but I might be able to trust your words if you answer my questions.
Here is a few since I rEally don't want to be too nosey; where are you from? What aRe some things you know about me? aRe your sisters twins or are yoU triplets? Is there any way I can reach you, maybe a phone number or something (since I have no idea how am I gonna give you this note)?
I realized that a secret admirer might mean someone that likes me romantically, but I can't wrap my head around the fact why you would like me in that way. I hope this doesn't make you uncomfortable in any way, since there is all types of secret admirers so I don't know why I'm mentioning this anyways.
I have grown very fond of your character that you've described to me as I keep thinking about it. If you ever get this, will you please write back? -From Sky Black', it read. Tingling feelings tickled my chest area as I reread her note.
It was a marvelous feeling and to continue that feeling, I silently repeated her words in my head as I continued on with my day.
It wasn't until I was about to sleep when I realized that I had really fell hard for her.
A/N: Hey! Emily & Kayla here! I hope you didn't mind the secret admirer's point of view...but if you didn't, please let us know. in the letter, there are some capitalization mistakes, but its on purpose if you hadn't already figured. Alright, don't forget to show us some love!~ XxWeirdosXx
