Chapter 15

It kinda annoys me when I look at some of my earlier parts and they have two reads but some of my more recent ones have... 6? I'm confused. How did that happen??? Anygays enjoy y'all!

Obanai's pov:
Friday came quickly. I was rereading my letter from Leon before sending my own saying that I would probably be out today and should be able to come visit soon.

Deer Besty,
I got howm yesterday so I desidid to right to u. My doge was so ecited to c me and he jumpd on me and liked my fase. I can't wayte 4 u to righte back to me and com here wen u can go. U shud ask Ms. Mitsuri on a dat.

It was kind of hard to read the letter (although I guess it should be expected from a kid) I chuckled as I reread it and then finished off my own letter.

Dear Leon,
Thanks for your letter. I have heard that there is a possibility of me being released very soon so I might be able to come see you very soon. I can't wait to meet your dog. He sounds very cool. Thanks for your advice about Mitsuri. I will take it into careful consideration. I heard from one of the nurses that Susan is being fired. Can't wait to see you again.

I put the letter carefully into an envelope and bring it up to Erika (who is covering for SuSaN today... and possibly forever)
"I would like to send this. I put all of the necessary labels on it." I told her. She nods and smiles brightly, which was a nice change from SuSaNs gum smacking.
"Alright! I'll bring this to the postal office!" She says. I nod and walk back to my room, anxiously awaiting news on whether I will leave today or not.

"Once you leave, you can finally die!"

"No. I won't do that." I confidentially tell the voice.

"Pshhh. Save that confidence for later! You'll need it!"

I sigh. It's not going to let me wait in peace is it? I put on some headphones that my nurse gave to me and put on some upbeat music so that the voice leaves.

Mitsuri's pov:
I hope that today he can leave. Some of the hashira keep asking where he is. I don't know if I should tell them or if Shinobu made up some kind of lie to tell them instead.
I walk to the front desk. I see someone there but it's... not Susan?
"Oh! Is Susan sick today?" I ask her.
"Something like that." She replies warmly. I get a good vibe from her. I'm glad she's here instead today.
"I'm here to check if Iguro Obanai is ready to leave." I say. She clicks at her computer. Not annoyingly (like Susan) just like a normal person looking things up on a computer.
"Yup! He's been cleared to leave! I can bring you to his room now if you want!" I nod. We walk through the halls. The walls are pastel coloured. I see a bunch of kids to young adults hanging out.
We get to a room that had a whiteboard with his name on it. The nurse knocks.
"Come in." A voice from inside says. She opens the door. It's a really empty room with not much furniture other than a bed and a TV. There is also a picture on the wall. It has a... must've been from the kid.
"You're being released! You can pack up all of your things and head to the front desk to check out." She explains. He nods as she walks away.
"Need help packing?" I ask.
"No I don't have too many things." He opens the closet and shoves all of the things I got him in a bag and carefully puts the art on top.
We walk out of his room to the front desk. We check him out and go outside the hospital.
"Master was worried about you." I tell him. "You wanna go visit him after we put your stuff away?" I ask. He nods.
The walk to his estate was rather quiet. (Which wasn't too odd for him) Kaburamaru decided to wrap himself around Obanai's neck.
Once we got to his estate he threw his stuff inside his room. (After carefully taking out the art and putting it gently on his bed of course)
"Did Leon make that for you?" I ask.
"Yeah. He left a while ago." He answered. I'm glad that the kid could go be a kid. "You ready to go see Master? We have a hashira meeting after that. Do you want to attend that?" I don't know what I should say. Should he be doing all of this as soon as he gets out? Does he need some time?
"Sure." I guess I didn't say anything too bad which is a relief.

Obanais pov:
We get to the Masters estate where the meetings are held. Mitsuri requests to see the Master and we wait for a bit.

"Why did you agree to come?"

"You could've gone home and died!"

Not right now. I focus on something else. I look at Kaburamaru and touched his scales. One thing that my nurse taught me was to distract myself when these thoughts intruded my mind. I distract myself with things like music or fidget toys but I didn't have any right now.
Eventually Master comes in. Me and Mitsuri bow.
"Lift your heads children." He orders. We lift our heads up.
"I understand that you are well enough to work again now?" Master asks me.
"Yes Master." I agree.
"Very well. I will give you a one week break and then I will start giving you missions again. Is that fair?"
"Yes Master." Mitsuri is watching us talk.
"I shall take my leave then. Unless you have anything else you would like to say."
"No Master." He nods at us and his daughters lead him out of the room. I decide to wait on my favourite tree for the meeting to hopefully avoid human contact for as long as possible.
