Harper POV
We're in the living room once again with no toilet. It decided to spring a leak and now we have zero toilet for 6 hours. These plumbers are so damn slow. To pass the time we're watching Shameless, oddly enough Ethan and Mason are sitting next to each other with zero bickering. Hopefully they're starting to get along, after Charlotte showed me that picture I've had high hopes.
After about one hour of Shameless there's movement from my right. Ethan is beside me, lifting his arms to make room for Mason whose head now lays in his lap. I almost couldn't believe my eyes. I should snap a picture, but I also don't want to. Just then I realized Mason had whispered something to Ethan. I just hadn't heard what he said. Physical commotion comes from Mason as his face distorts and legs squeeze. I have a bad feeling about what is happening at the current moment. I can feel eyes staring at the same scene in awe, wondering if the sight is real or not. You would've thought Lucas was a bit jealous at the scene but he was absolutely delighted that the two were getting along.
20 minutes later the majority of everyone is on their phones. I look over and Mason looks in incredible pain. He's easily embarrassed so I don't bring it up. I feel a tap from my left now, it's Angel. "Hey, is Mason ok? Does he need to... y'know...", "I dunno looking at his face I'd say yeah. I wouldn't point it out though.", I reply. She's nods in return, understanding how timid he is. Ethan looks over to see Mason's face and bites his lower lip. He starts to rub up and down on Mason's shoulder. I turn to tell Angel to inform every one of the situation. Eyes soon travel to Mason. He starts to sit up off Ethan's lap and lay on his shoulder now. His hands are covering his face, he's crying. Ethan wraps his arm around him and rubs his shoulder once again. He then whispers to the other. I had to see what was happening. I tap his shoulder. "Ethan," "What." "You're so mean, anyway what's wrong with Mason??". He looks at me as if I spoke another language. "There is literally only one thing that could be wrong with him right now.". So I was right. "Why are you being so nice to him?? Don't yall like hate each other?", "I dunno, just felt like it." "How long? I mean, is he seriously crying?.". Mason only really cries when he's in serious pain. So I'm concerned if he's just whining or actually crying. "I think. His breathing is shaky and quick." "Well try to calm him, hyperventilating isn't gonna do him any good.". He then taps the other and talks to him, the crying boy then takes deep breaths trying to calm down. His face was red and tears stained his rosy face. His breathing is still irregular but better than before.
A couple minutes later and Mason is fidgeting out of his mind. When he gets up so quickly it shocks me. "SHIT!", he yells as he sprints up the stairs and into his room with a slam and a click signifying he locked the door. Everyone looks at each other in shock. The outburst was incredibly uncharacteristic and shocking. "Should somebody go up there...?", Angel states, "Um yeah, who though ?", Lucas asks. "I'll go." I say with a sigh. I make my way up the stairs and knock upon his door. He stays silent and muffled sobs of pain are heard from the other side of the door. I'm really no good at crying, so I shout Angel's name and she runs up the stairs. I tell her that he's crying and I can't do anything about it. She speaks to him through the door crack and eventually footsteps and a click is heard. We step into the room and Mason is sobbing uncontrollably obviously losing the strength in his legs he used to get up and let us in. We rush over and help him sit on the floor. We could hear the concerned conversations downstairs since he was crying pretty loud. The bathroom was still closed for another 4 hours. I cursed myself for ever buying a house with one bathroom. He covered his face exactly how he had downstairs. Except one hand was holding himself. Angel wrapped her arm around him and asked him to calm down. I wasn't exactly sure how she was doing it but he was calming down quickly. Even though he was no longer bawling, he still let out whines every couple seconds.
Little time after of us sitting with him. I realized how long he'd actually been holding it. Near 3 hours. Insane, last week he couldn't contain himself for thirty minutes. A gasp is heard across the room as he starts yelling at us. "Get out! Oh my God go!", we rush to our feet and skedaddle out the room. A slam was behind us, hinting he actually got the strength to get up and run after us. We look at each other in shock, knowing what's probably happening in there. We see everyone on the couch looking at us. "Damn, what the fuck did y'all do?", Ethan yells from downstairs. "Nothing! We were just sitting there.", Angel says defending herself. A string of cuss words come out of the room. Which makes me think he hasn't pissed himself yet. I walk downstairs to tell them. "I don't think he's had an accident yet.", I say, "How? He kicked you out the room.", Charlotte replies. "Y'know how easily embarrassed he is, could've been that.". Looks are shared across the room as we realize that no one is with him at the current moment. "We should go stand outside the door and listen, because he's definitely not letting us in.", Lucas blurts. We all walk up the stairs quietly so he wouldn't hear us. We can't hear anything so Angel peaks through the crack and tells us what she sees. "He's just laying on the floor with his legs elevated? His face is super red though.", she whispers too us. A loud groan is heard from his bedroom. Then cries, very painful sounding cries. "Ok someone needs to go in there, he sounds insane.", Charlotte says.
Lucas knocks on the door and is let in. We see the boy on wobbly legs for a spilt second before we all look through the door crack. Lucas sits the boy down and starts to rub his back. He then asks if he's going to last the few hours left, the other shrugs. "We've got about an hour and a half left. Will you make it?", this time the fragile boy immediately shakes his head no. "No? Ok... can you try?", Mason sniffs and nods.
Mason burst to tears a couple times, but held on, as he promised he would try.

Time has passed and Lucas is still with Mason is the room. The plumber is packing up his things and going to get paid by Harper. As soon as he's gone I bash open Mason's door and tell them that the toilet's working. Lucas helped him up and almost carried him to the bathroom, his legs were so weak. As soon as Lucas left we went to the living room and gave everyone a huge smile and thumbs up. Everyone lit up in a smile, except Ethan of course.
Soon enough Mason came out the bathroom. He went straight to his room and almost immediately we heard snoring. "Awh haha", Angel giggled. "Wore all the way out huh?", Charlotte blurted as we all started laughing.
