He gritted his teeth. Across the room they were sitting in a corner of the hotel lobby, a couple of drinks and some snacks in front of them on the table. Sailom looked very handsome in the black shirt he was wearing. It was obvious that he had made an effort to look his best tonight. He was all smiles, very polite and downright courteous and friendly. Although he could tell even from this distance, from the way Sailom held himself, from the way he reacted to everything, from the look in his eyes, that none of it was real, Kang hated it. As if it wasn't humiliating enough for him that he couldn't let go of Sailom and had followed him all day, even though he hadn't asked him for help once, he now had to watch how he pretended to please an old geezer who was getting bolder and bolder by the minute. They were sitting far too close to each other and he could clearly see that the man dared to touch Sailom's thigh and even lightly caressed his neck. But Sailom made no attempt to move away from him. He was visibly uncomfortable, that was beyond doubt for Kang, but he drank the wine he was offered anyway, and was still willing to accept the situation. Kang was not. He became increasingly restless and could no longer remain still on the chair on which he had crouched. He closed his eyes, leaned his head back for a few moments and tried to calm himself.
As if that hadn't provoked him enough the first time Sailom had decided to become an escort. At that point, however, there was nothing between him and Sailom that would have given him the right to cause a scene, but even then, he wanted nothing more than to yank Sailom away from it all. This was the first time he had truly realised that he wanted to claim him for himself, that he would have been willing to hurt anyone who forced Sailom to do such a thing. Back then, he wouldn't have been able to put his finger on why the whole matter had affected him so much, but he had been inclined to intervene, and if Pimfah had not been with him, restraining him, he undoubtedly would have done so.
That Sailom was now doing it again, and then with the same customer, was more than he could stomach. But just like last time, Sailom had made the decision all by himself. He hadn't asked for Kang's permission or let alone his help. In fact, he had simply done what Kang had told him, without protesting or arguing. He had left, apparently being fine with everything, and had accepted the way things were between them now. But Kang had followed him here nonetheless. As much as he may wanted to, he could not let go of him so easily. Whether it was worse that Sailom showed no signs of fear or disgust, or whether that was the only reason preventing him from putting an end to this damn situation, he couldn't have said.
When Kang opened his eyes, the table where the two had been sitting before was empty. Instantly, he stood up and scanned the room. Only a few minutes later, his phone started ringing. He wanted to ignore it, as there could not be anything more important at the moment. For whatever reason, he got his phone out, actually planning to reject the call but his heart skipped a beat when he saw the name on the screen.
Why on earth would Sailom be calling him, calling him now!? Before he could pick up, the call went dead. Kang's anxiety reached new heights. Something must have occurred, something was wrong, something serious. He went straight to the reception, knowing exactly what kind of an argument he had to make in order to get the room number. There was no doubt on his mind that Sailom had not left the hotel. But even the app on his phone wasn't as accurate to give him the exact spot he had to look for him. His heart was racing. He made it crystal clear to the receptionist and the waiter, who he had dragged from the lobby, that the boy the older man had brought to one of the rooms was underage and even mentioned the name of his father, who was a well-known politician. After that, there was no need to go into the consequences for the hotel if any of this were to become public. He ran up the stairs as soon as he had the room number.
To his surprise the door was not locked. Kang stepped inside and paused for a breathless second as he took in the scene before him. The bastard was bending over Sailom, who was lying on the bed, showing no signs of resistance. Sailom's black shirt was wide open and it looked like the disgusting scumbag was kissing his neck or cheek, one of his hands resting possessively on Sailom's waist, the other on his head, as if he wanted to hold him in this position. This was far more than Kang could possibly bear. Without any warning, without consciously deciding what to do, he sprang into action. He grabbed the old geezer's upper arm rather forcefully and pushed him away from Sailom in one motion, landing his fist under his jaw with as much force as he could muster. Although he was fully focused on the now completely irritated man, who had no idea what had just happened and certainly had not expected an attack, Kang noticed that Sailom did not even show the slightest reaction.
