So uh... this wasn't supposed to happen. But, uh, surprise?
A few years ago, a reader messaged me, complimenting It Began With a Text and asking if I would write a sequel. I immediately said I wouldn't because, to me, IBWAT never existed outside of an entity of its own. But I guess that message has stuck with me subconsciously because out of nowhere, I realized just because the story of IBWAT was over, didn't mean it had to end. And now I've realized how much more I want to explore the world I created in that story.
All of you guys who supported It Began With a Text, this is because of you, and I can't thank you enough. I really hope you enjoy what I hope this sequel will become!
So for some intro notes, of course:
1. If you're a new reader, head over to It Began With a Text imaooo. You won't understand this story without it.
2. This story will probably have more actual writing than text, compared to the first book, but I shall still stay true to the backbone of this series and give you guys the crackheaded group chat conversations you deserve!
3. So... I don't know WHAT drugs I was on when I made the character's ages in the first book, but NONE of them are accurate. I'll probably go back and change them but for this story, the character's ages are what it makes sense for them to be, especially since there is a time skip.
4. This story will probably do a lot of jumping back and forth between past and present. I'll do my best, of course, to flag these changes but please let me know if anything is confusing so I can fix it.
5. So, I don't know how to explain this, but a certain conflict in this story will seem to hold a lot of similarity to an in real-life situation that has occurred and may seem in poor taste. Please know that I did not make the correlation between events until after I came up with the idea and the conflict itself makes sense in the context of the story and has taken no inspiration from real-life events (this will make sense, I promise...)
6. For those of you were were around when IBWAT was ongoing, you'll know I updated that story like CRAZY. I, unfortunately, do not have the luxury to do something similar with this story, but I will do my absolute best to remain consistent, I hope I have your guys' patience ;-; I'm going to let the prologue of this story (and maybe one more chapter) stoop for a little bit before I update further, as I have other works to update too, but I do have some chapters pre-written so I will get to a proper schedule soon after. Just know this story is going to grow along with me.
7. I will not be able to measure up to what It Began With a Text was, and how far it has gone, but my writing has improved by leaps and bounds since writing it, so I'm so excited to take you guys on this journey. I hope you enjoy <3
