I sat on the bench, tightening the laces of my skates. This was it. The moment that would make or break my career. Agents were scattered in the crowd. The lake glistened in beauty. This was my stage. I had travelled all the way to bubblefuck Canada to do this show. My coach sat next to me.

"You ready Y/n?" She asked as I did my laces up as tight as I could.

"Born ready. I either get recruited today or die trying." I smirk and the skater before me finishes her routine. She walks off the ice looking disappointed.

"Hey you were amazing!" I say with a smile. It was a great routine. Lillian was a part of my state team and she was a great skater.

"Thanks or whatever." She said nonchalantly moving along.

"Y/n L/n, representing the Crystal Angels."

I take my guards off as I step onto the ice. I could feel Lillian's smirk from a mile away. I took my position and waited for the music to start. The song 'Liquid Smooth' by Mitski started playing on the loudspeakers and I glided along the ice, spinning and jumping from muscle memory. I glided over a spot that almost made me fall but I kept going. The music suddenly stopped but I didn't dare stop, I had memorised the routine down to the very slightest of movements. I could hear yelling but I didn't let that break my routine. I did my final jump and that's when I heard it. A loud crack. It was too late. The cold pain enveloped me as I opened my eyes. Thick shards of ice floated above me as I felt myself shut down.

The cold went away and I shot up from the water. I cough and open my eyes. The sky was red and beasts of all kind were wandering the streets.

"What the fuck?" I realise I was sitting in a fountain and something rams into my back. I turn around to see a tiny little demon thing wearing a snorkel.

"Hey go look for loose change elsewhere!" It yells and I roll out of the fountain. I begin to walk not realising I still had my skates on until halfway down the street. I have a mini heart attack realising I was walking on concrete with my bare blades. I had kinda figured out where I am so there's no point in doing anything now. I was dead. I sunk to the bottom of the lake and they couldn't save me in time. A lump gathered in my throat and I choked back tears. I understood why I was here. I did all kinds of shit in high school; Drinking, drugs, drinking and driving...I accidentally killed someone that night, my best friend. She was a good person though, she deserved to make it to Heaven. Me? I deserve this.

I kept walking, I didn't know where I was going. I walked past a store window and caught a glimpse of myself. I looked at my reflection and screamed. People passing by stared at me. My skin was an icy blue and my hair the same. Running mascara was seemingly tattooed under my eyes and my lips were a pale blue. The only thing that seemed beautiful about my new appearance was the short figure skater dress that seemed to be made out of diamonds. It ended at my armpits like an off the shoulder dress. The skirt was just above half way down my thighs. Luckily I had a pair of darker blue leggings that extended over a portion of my skates. A tiara perched neatly atop my head and my skin felt cold, really cold.

I made my way down the street when I saw an advertisement on the TVs in the tech store I walked by.

"Are you a wayward sinner looking for redemption?" A voice that sounded like an old radio show spoke. "Or are you just desperate? Come down to the Hazbin Hotel! Where you can get a half assed shot of getting into Heaven!

That didn't sound too bad. A place where I could stay for the time being, not that I deserve redemption of any kind.

I made my way over to the hotel. It sat on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the city that was sectioned into a pentagram shape. I knocked hesitantly on the door and it was quickly opened by a tall blonde girl wearing a red tux.

"Hi um... this is the Hazbin Hotel right? I mean there's a fat fucking sign on the roof but I wanted to make sure."

She seemed really excited and pulled me into the lobby.

"GUYS GUYS GUYS! I FOUND SOMEONE!" She announced. "This is-! Umm... sorry what's your name?"

"Umm Y/n.... Y/n L/n."

"Nice to meet you! I'm Charlie, the founder of this hotel!"

I nodded and a pink twink covered his nose.

"Ugh you reek of life! Did you just die!?"

"I think so? I fell through the ice at my... fuck...there goes my career."

"Career?" Charlie asked. "Were you a figure skater?" She asks looking me up and down, not in a judgemental way but more in a curious way.

"No I was a fucking skydiver." I say, my voice laced with sarcasm. "Yes I was a goddam figure skater!"

"Oh...sorry.."

"No...no I'm sorry. I process traumatic events with sarcasm."

"That is so real." The pink twink said.

"That's Angel Dust, another one of our patrons."

Angel Dust waved his fingers at me and I waved back.

"So we can get you set up with a room and you can start your journey to redemption!" Charlie said happily.

"Oh um... about that. I don't... I don't deserve redemption."

Charlie gave me a sad smile.

"Everyone deserves a chance at redemption. Come on, lets get you set up with a room."

"But I don't have any money?"

"We're a free of charge company. I can get you anything you need, I am the princess of Hell after all!"

My eyes widened in shock.

"You're the princess of Hell?"

"Yep!"

"That's so fucking cool."

Charlie leads me to a suite. It was nice enough, a large cushy bed and gold accents around the room. I opened a drawer which magically had clothes in shades of blue and grey. I took a blue shirt and grey sweatpants and headed into the bathroom. I managed to pry off my skates and put on the clothes provided. I walk out of the bathroom and lie back on my bed. I begin to sink into sleep when I hear a buzzing noise from the corner of the room. I shoot up to see a demon wearing a pinstripe red coat and red and black hair that resembled deer ears.

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!?"

"I'm Alastor, pleasure to meet you my dear! I was just buzzing when I heard that this delusional hotel gained another patron!"

I just stared at him.

"...get the fuck outta my room!" I yelled.

"Ha! Now what might be your name dear?"

"You built like a damn deer!"

Downstairs, the whole crew was laughing and talking when Vaggie piped up.

"Wait, where's Alastor?" She says in a worried tone.

Charlie grew wide eyes.

"Oh no.... OH NONONONONO!" Charlie began running up the stairs with Vaggie close behind her. Charlie threw the door open and began dragging Alastor out. "I am so sorry Y/n! He'll leave you alone. Right Alastor?" She said condescendingly.

"Sure thing!" He walks out of the room and Charlie says good night before closing the door.

"...what the fuck." You say, finally drifting off to sleep.
