It's been three years since that day and Naruto has managed to control up to a quarter of his chakra. Not only that, but thanks to the teachings of Gai, Kakashi, and Asuma, he's gotten mastery over taijutsu and shurikenjutsu down to a kage level. He's formed the animal contracts with the dogs, crows and snakes and added them to his Animal Path summons, boosting their size, power, abilities, and making them immortal. He's also managed to master every element to a degree and has been working hard on trying to use the Raikiri and Rasengan he saw Kakashi using. He refused learning the Shadow Clone though because his chakra reserves are so massive that he might accidentally alert the other countries and villages.

Sarui herself has trained herself to the breaking point, puking and rupturing her blood vessels on more than a few occasions. But thanks to the Kyubi's power, she regenerates quickly. She's also managed to break through to the final stage of her base Sharingan, with three tomoe in each eye. She's mastered over half of her chakra and the Kyubi's, the little she can get from it. She's also managed to master her respective elements; Lightning and Fire; and has managed to fuse the two together to create Blaze Release, which is as strong as Amaterasu. However, she can fuse them together three times per day. She's also mastered the Shadow Clone jutsu.

Hinata has also broken herself over and over again, hoping to stay beside Naruto and Sarui, not wanting to get left behind. She's mastered seventy percent of her Kyubi's power as it willingly cooperates with her and she's even managed to access a crude form of Tailed Beast Mode. She's mastered Wind and Water Release to the level that she can fuse them to create Ice Release for up to ten times a day. She too has mastered Shadow Clone jutsu.

Naruto, Sarui, and Hinata were now walking back towards class together for the first time in three whole years.

Naruto smiled at them. "You guys ready?" Naruto asked.

"Of course!" Hinata shouted, smiling.

"Of course..." Sarui said gloomily, slumped over.

"What's the matter Sarui?" Naruto asked.

"Nothing... I just feel like the third wheel here. You guys are just so strong." Sarui said with some restraint.

"Oh my! Jealous are we?" Hinata asked with an 'ara ara' tone to go with it.

"Why you little-!" Sarui shouted just as Naruto opened the door.

"Hey everyone!" Naruto yelled. He waved at the class.

"You better have gotten more control over that monstrous chakra of yours!" Kiba shouted as he charged at Naruto.

"Heh." Naruto said smugly with a smirk. Sarui, without anyone noticing besides Naruto and Hinata, kicked Kiba in the face.

"Hey there everyone~!" Sarui said, leaning against Naruto as she looked at the class.

Hinata leaned on his other side and waved at her other classmates. "Hey!" Hinata shouted.

Naruto sighed. "Well, let's take the test." Naruto said.

Sarui went first and completely aced the test with no effort. Same went for Hinata. But when Naruto stepped up...

'Let's see... I have to swap places with the log, create an illusionary clone, and one other, huh.' Naruto thought. He performed the other two besides the clone and sighed. "Iruka, can we perform any clone technique we know?" Naruto asked.

"Yes. As long as it is a clone. I figured you wouldn't be able to perform the illusionary one because it requires too little chakra and too much control." Iruka answered.

Naruto sighed. "Well... I'll try to reduce the number as much as possible but... alright." Naruto pulled out his sword and performed one-handed seals. "Water and Earth: Wood Style: Wood Clone!" Naruto declared. He solely made these clones just to pass this test, knowing full well that he'd need to control at least 98% of his chakra in order to perform the jutsu, and It'd turn out horrible to begin with even then. And it will only get worse the older he gets because, although his chakra reserves were ten times that of the Nine-Tails when he was six, it has dramatically increased since then. Each year, it stacks an additional ten times the Juubi on his chakra reserves. He's lucky he can even control a quarter of it because of his constant training and the hell he went through by his jonin instructors. He managed to master taijutsu and other hand-to-hand combat abilities because of his lack of control, otherwise his jutsus might end up destroying more than he intended. With this sword, if he stores as much chakra as possible, he can reach up to almost half of his chakra reserves being controlled.
