Grey Ring

(A/N: In honor of my aroace friend)

"Hey, Himi?"

"Hm?"

"What's that ring on your middle finger?"

Toga froze. She hoped that she wouldn't have to explain it.

Years ago, her friends had crushes on people. But the thing was...

She didn't.

She had asked her friends about it, and they described it as "a funny feeling in your chest that makes you feel good".

So she thought, and realized that she felt the same way about blood.

After going crazy over blood in an attempt to feel attraction, she could never do that, no matter how much she tried. She ended up on the streets.

A few years later, she had found something on the internet- Something called the A-Spec. "Hey, Kurogiri? Compress?" She had asked. "What is the A-Spec?" The two sat down next to her. "The A-Spec refers to Asexual and Aromantic, or Ace and Aro for short. Ace means that you aren't intimately attracted to anyone, and Aro means the same, except romantically." They explained.

Toga couldn't explain it, but shre felt that funny feeling in her chest. Only, it was realization.

"That sounds like me!" She exclaimed. "That's great! Which one?" Kurogiri asked. Toga smiled. "Both of them."

For her next birthday, Compress and Kurogiri got her a silvery-gray ring. They told her that it would signify to others in the spectrum that she was in there too.

Another year later, she was sitting on the top bunk with Keiya, who had asked about it.

"Well..." Toga started. She explained everything-Her attempts, her situation, and her revelation.

When she was done, Keiya smiled. "I actually have a ring too. Do you want to see?" Toga's eyes shone. "Sure!"

Keiya reached into their pocket and pulled out a black ring. "This means I'm asexual." They explained.

Toga was beaming now. "Yay! We're now the A-Spec Twins!" She cheered. "Is there anyone else?"

"Hold on." Keiya took out their phone and texted in a group chat. Minutes later, Mina, Tokoyami, Bakugou, and Midnight came walking in through Kurogiri's portal. All of them had rings on their middle fingers.

"The A-Squad is here!" Mina sang. Then she turned to Toga. "Welcome! As you can tell, we're all in the A-Spec in some way. I'm cupioromantic asexual!" She announced proudly, holding up her finger. It was grey with a pink streak.

"I'm demisexual." Bakugou huffed, showing his black-and-purple ring. "Welcome to the Squad, Vampire."

"This may surprise you, but I'm asexual!" Midnight said. "That's why my costume has black rings."

"And I'm asexual too." Tokoyami revealed his black ring. "Welcome, Himiko."

Toga had never belonged so much.
