I reentered food heaven. It was like they had Thanksgiving dinner every night or something. There was food flying around, landing on a table, or filling up goblets. I was sitting at a table in the corner with Hazel, Rachel, Tyson, Ella and Frank. Apparently, we were the cool table, because people kept sitting by us and then leaving.
Finally, Frank broke the happy, happy mood.
"Anthony, you and Hazel and Rachel are going to St. Louis.."
I was putting some chips up to my mouth and I stopped halfway there when he said that.
"Um, me? I got here today," I said, dumbfounded.
"We thought it was a good idea, but if you don't want to go..."
"No, I'll go. Um, why are we going to St. Louis?" I asked.
"Well, technically, we're just stopping off there. It's on the way to Camp Half-Blood. We're accompanying Rachel to there since she's issuing prophecies again. We're assuming the Greeks might want her back," Hazel explained.
Apparently Rachel didn't know either, as she said, "I don't need accompaniment."
"Reyna insisted. Sorry Rachel," Frank said.
"Ulg, fine." A huge pile of mashed potatoes flew towards her. She smiled like a madman and dug in.
I no longer felt like eating, "So, what's deathball?" I asked."It's like paintball, but with poison, acid and fire and stuff," Frank sighed, as if thinking back on an unhappy experience.
"Um, do I have to play?" I asked, pushing my plate away.
"Yeah. Well, I guess I could pardon you, since I've already pardoned me and Hazel. And Reyna's already pardoned herself so, nah. We can hang out in my room."
"THANK YOU!"
Frank looked surprised, "Yeah, YOU'RE WELCOME!"
Hazel smiled. The group finished soon enough, Tyson and Ella the first to finish and leave. Then Frank, Hazel and I broke off, leaving Rachel.
"See ya!" she had called.
All three of us made our way back to the Senate House. When we got there, we all went up to Frank's room.
"So, Hazel," Frank began. Then he glanced at me and stopped.
"No, no. Go ahead. I'll just... sit in the corner..." I walked off the the door that I was pretty sure was Frank's bathroom and sat facing the wall. I was pretty sure that they were going to start kissing or something until Frank said, "I want you to be safe during this. I was scared when we got separated in the Necromation-"
"And when you were promoted to Praeter!" Hazel interjected.
"And when you were in there with Leo... I know that this mission is about getting Rachel to Camp Half-Blood and everything, but... Come back to me. Don't get wrapped up with the whole St. Louis thing. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I love you, Hazel!" Frank was keeping his voice low, but I heard every word that he said crystal clear.
I turned around and whimpered, "That was beautiful!"
Hazel was giving Frank a peck on the cheek exactly when I said that, and they jumped apart embarrassed.
They were both blushing furiously.
"Sorry! I'll go back to the corner!" I turned back around.
I knew that they we still talking, but they were more cautious of what I could hear, for all that I did hear was a faint murmur.
