Chapter 2: Haunted House

Sky's POV:

"Guys it's time to head out now. You ready?"

Jake tells me and Johnnie.

Johnnie walks over to me and puts his hand out for me to take.

I'm shocked by the gesture but decline it politely.

"I'm sorry Johnnie, maybe we should get to know each other a little more first. We just met after all."

I chuckle uncomfortably.

Johnnie blushes at the rejection then puts his hands back in his pockets.

"Oh."

Johnnie looks away for a moment.

"I'll respect that. Maybe we can get to know each other more after the haunted house?"

"Of course we can Johnnie. Thank you for respecting me."

I place my hand on Johnnie's shoulder as a gesture of reassurance. I smile softly at him, feeling happy that he respects my boundaries.

Johnnie smiles and blushes. He seems to be a little bit surprised by my small gesture. He smiles back at me.

"Anytime, beautiful."

"Ready to head out?"

Jake asks both of us.

"Just to warn you both, I'm a runner when it comes to haunted houses, real or fake. So I will be bolting like Usain Bolt. Don't play with me."

I tell Jake and Johnnie.

Johnnie laughs and smiles warmly. Jake chuckles and shakes his head.

"I don't think there will be any reason to be running."

Johnnie nods and grins.

"You're in good hands, I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

"Ok then let's get this show on the road people!"

I skip out the door, trying to hide my fear. I had some fear about this and I didn't know why. I usually don't get scared about haunted houses. But something was different this time.

Both Johnnie and Jake laugh and follow close behind me. Johnnie takes one of my arms.

"You're adorable, y'know that?"

Johnnie says.

"Of course I know that."

I say, jokingly being confident.

"Just kidding, no I'm not."

Johnnie laughs.

"No, you're the hottest chick I've met in years."

He looks down at me and chuckles.

My face goes red and I chuckle slightly. I just nod, not knowing what to say.

I get in the back seat of the car, Jake is driving and Johnnie is in the passenger seat.

————————Time Skip———————

We arrive at the haunted house and we hop out of the car. I look up at the tall, two story, run down house in front of us. An eerie feeling runs through my body. Goosebumps appear on my arms.

I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Sky, are you okay?"

Johnnie looks down at me, worriedly.

I nod and a smile appears on my face.

"Yes, I'm fine!"

I say happily, trying to mask my fear. But as I continue to look at Johnnie, he seems to know I'm lying because the worried expression doesn't leave his face.

Jake starts the video for his youtube channel. He does the intro with Johnnie and then the camera pans to me.

"Introduce yourself Sky!"

Jake tells me.

I smile widely at the camera.

"Hello! I'm Sky! I'm a professional dancer and choreographer and a singer. I've been dancing for 16 years and I am 23 years old!"

Jake explains what we are doing then we head to the haunted house.

We give the worker, a short, blonde girl dressed in a costume like the girls in The Shining. She opens the doors and lets us in.

As we walk through the haunted house, I start to feel a weird feeling. I put it off though, suspecting it was just me being overwhelmed and paranoid with all the jump scares and scare actors in the haunted house.

Getting deeper into the house, we walk into a room with dolls on the wall and fake blood splattered all over. Suddenly a woman dressed as a vampire jumps in front of us. I scream and jump back. I suspect that the lady would scare us then move to the side to let us through to the next room but she stays put. I start to get scared and I chuckle nervously.

"Uh... could we go through now..?"

I ask nervously.

I hope for her to move to the side to let us through but she stays put still. I then hear a distorted and demonic voice come from the woman.

"GET OUT NOW!"

The lady gets close to my face and yells. Suddenly she pushes me backwards and I feel like the floor give out from underneath me. I scream and scream and as I look up I see Jake and Johnnie looking down at me.

"SKY!"

All I hear is Johnnie screaming my name before I feel myself start to get dizzy. My thoughts start to pace before everything goes black.
