"Ava why are you taking forever up there?" a scream echos through the house, the fridge door opens the sound of rummaging floats up the stairs.

"Jesus Christ when that woman is hungry she doesn't care." I hear the pantry opening next, clattering follows. " God dammit Avalon we're going to be late!" she screams with a mouth full. I spray my curls one last time, she just wants to get to the restaurant already. I come running down the stairs to see my best friend eating a sandwich. Her black dress hugging her curves, and her blonde hair is in waves with her bangs tied back. Her usual converse are at her feet, she's beautiful. "Damn, Ava you look hot!" she exclaims again. "Come on Lex lets go." we hurry towards the door and I turn the lock.

"Our reservation is at eight, its eight now Ava." she huffs and turn towards the window, we're always late. Lex starts to bite her nails continuing to stare out the window. "Look it takes time to look this good" I motion towards my body and smirk letting out a chuckle "you don't look so bad either Lexi" I wink high five-ing her. Alexis has been my best friend since I was nine, her parents died in a horrific car crash and my family just took her in. We've been inseparable since.

"Ava, I'm so hungry can we just get to the restaurant please?" I stare at her like she didn't just eat a sandwich before we left I go back to the road. My foot squeezes the gas peddle as the engine revves I'm starting to pick up speed. "Lexi, are we still going to the races tonight?" I move one hand to the stick shift of my Nissan GTR, I love to go fast, it makes me forget about the world as if I'm untouchable. In my opinion it's the greatest feeling in the world. Lexi hates to go fast I'm the only one the only one she trusts with her life- literally because of the whole parent thing. I drop the clutch into fifth gear and the black car continues to lurch forward. A huge smile is painted across my face the feeling of euphoria flows throughout my body.

"Ava semi!" "AVA SEMI" Lex screams from the top of her lungs. I look out the drivers window another semi is fast approaching. "Do you trust me?" I smirk "with my life" she breathes her grip tightening around the upper handlebar. In a quick second my blinker is on and I'm in front of the semis, a loud horn blares behind us. "Avalon I swear to god if you do that again your dead. I can't believe you squeezed around those semis at 110" her face is dumb founded. "I'm just that good Lex" I laugh and move the stick to fourth then to third as I take the exit.

"Not bad timing huh?" I put my finger on the dash clock. Lexi rolls her eyes and slams the door. "Don't slam my baby. " she ignores me and practically runs into the restaurant "Two for Avalon Grace, were a little late ." she gives a half hearted smile. Were seated at a table in the far back corner a
Gerbera daisy, red candle, and salt and pepper decorate the table. A very high priced restaurant courtesy of my dad.

I come from a little bit of money, my dad played the right stock made a little bit of change and sold the stock for quadruple of what he bought it for, but unfortunately when my parents got divorced my mother took about half of what he made, and hit the road and now I have no idea where she is. It's just my pops, lex and I for right now, that's how we were able to take in Alexis. His two daughters and him, he continues to collect money from playing the stocks.
