The curse always comes back

Kioshi Soma

Decades ago my great great grandmother broke the old Soma family curse.
But what do you know. When i was born. 78 years later, I turned into a kitten when my mother first held me.

Of course, after I was born. It started happening to my siblings, and to the people related to me some how.

So, I am the year of the cat, obviously. My younger sister, Ema Soma is the year of the ox. I don't really remember what other family members process what animal.

Since I was outcatsed.

My family that's older then me, excluding my great grandparents. All collectively decided it would be better if they didn't know I was the year of the cat.

Everyone except our first god basically didn't care for me.

Unfortunately our first god was raped at a young age, and when her child turned 4. She was forced to stay in her room people only brought her food. She had her own bathroom and stuff. So she was never let out really.

I think the last time I visted her is before I left for high school, when she was 18 and I was 13. I remember what she told me.

I was the only one she ever really wanted to see, so i was in her room that day. I was on the floor, my head rested on her knee. I worship her. My great great grandpa said I take after one of his cousins like that.

I remember she told me.

"You know the folk tail of why the year of the cat isn't included in the zodiac right Kioshi?"

"Of course I do Mizuki..."

"Well. They often say the rat is closest to God because it's the first zodiac. That would be your uncle Hayato... Well I think that's crap"

She held my face with her delicate hands. That were always pale, never getting any sun. Getting lipstick on her finger, from the lipstick marks she had given to me.

"Why do you have that opinion?.."
I was very confused. She was always respectful and kind to Hayato from what I remembered.

"Because God was mad at the rat for tricking the cat. But the rat guiltripped God by sobbing and saying that the cat picked on him. And God felt to bad to punish the rat. But in the end felt glad that the cat wasn't technically part of the Zodiac. They ended up being best friends. Since they didn't have to ever be professional with each other..."

Her words sounded like flowers blooming, like the sweet scent of villina.

I remember when I told my mother this, she said they were just pretty lies, from Mitzuki pitting me. But I know that isn't true.

I remember later that day when i was leaving Mitzuki's room. I ran got weird looks from everyone. Except Noa. My younger cousin. But, from what I remember. Shes nice to everyone.

The only reason I get weird looks from them is two reasons.

1.They met me when I was 10 and they were 8 and 6.
