I rush around in panic as another missile drops from the hazy, smoggy skies.
People run hither and thither as the blast from the missile that dropped unexpedtedly in the middle of the chaotic night acts like the dramatic ending of a movie loosely based on betrayal and blood.
The night had begun when we had been summoned to the city center by a loud speaker. We had walked in straight lines, like robots being controlled by a remote just like in the book Divergent. Don't ask me how I know it except for the fact that I saw us walking like my soul was detached from my body as it walked with the others.
The missile woke us from the daze. I see bits and pieces of me cycling around this city block that's designed like a maze, to apparently my friends' cellar like houses. The vision feels like so long ago as if it's not hours ago that I was running away from my friends who broke my heart like all friends do.
I don't know why I remember these little details at a moment when I am supposed to look for my family. It all feels like a puzzle someone's forcing me to solve.
My mother catches hold of me as I almost walk into a wall lost in thoughts as my father screams for us to follow him and soon the three of us are running away from a world that feels so real but at the same time like a hazy imagination of a beautiful time brought to end by the cruel missile reminding me as I wake up thinking that the world is not just roses but it's muddy with a few beautiful lotuses along the way!
