As I sat behind the wheel, the woman next to me, my future wife in less than a week, was practically vibrating with discomfort. Her leg kept bouncing, and she fiddled with her fingers incessantly, her eyes glued to the passing scenery outside the window.

I was angry, frustrated, and if I'm honest, a little scared. Scared of what the hell I was getting myself into. In a few days, this woman would be bound to me by law, and I didn't even know her. What the hell was Leo thinking?

"We're home," I announced, pulling the car to a stop in front of the mansion.

She turned to face me, her eyes wide with what I thought was relief, but before I could say anything, she leaned forward and threw up. All over me.

"Fuck," I cursed under my breath, trying not to let my frustration get the better of me. I was already on edge, and now I was covered in vomit.

She slumped back into her seat, pale and trembling, clearly mortified. I handed her a bottle of water, forcing myself to remain calm.

"Take small sips... slowly," I instructed, tying her hair back to make her more comfortable.

"Thanks," she whispered, her voice small and exhausted.

"Come on, let's get inside and cleaned up," I said, and for once, she didn't argue. She just nodded, too worn out to fight.

When we stepped into the house, Noah was in the living room with Aurora curled up in his lap, the twins lounging on the other sofa. Noah's eyes widened as he took in the state of me.

"What the hell happened to you?" Noah asked, his voice filled with a mix of concern and amusement.

I glanced at Reine, who was now standing a few feet away, looking utterly exhausted and on the verge of collapsing. "Someone threw up all over me," I replied in the coldest tone I could muster, hoping to keep my temper in check.

But that seemed to flip a switch in her. Her eyes narrowed, and before I could brace myself, she was off like a firecracker.

"Yeah, someone threw up all over you because maybe you were driving like we've got extra lives to spare?" she snapped, her voice rising with each word. "And while we're at it, why am I even here? You've got some nerve, you know that? Where's my brother? He would never let someone treat me like this. When he finds out—and he will—you'll be begging me for forgiveness. And I'll make sure you pay for this shit," she seethed, poking my chest with each point she made.

I couldn't help it; I smirked. She was feisty, I'd give her that. I took a step closer, capturing her finger in my hand and twisting it just slightly.

"Oh, there will be begging, that's for sure," I murmured, my voice low and challenging.

Her eyes flashed with anger, and before I could react, she grabbed a vase from the nearby table and hurled it at my head. I dodged it just in time, and it crashed into the TV behind me.

"You're going to need a new TV," she said with a wicked smile, clearly satisfied with herself.

I couldn't believe her audacity. I took a step closer, my eyes locking onto hers, enjoying the fire in her gaze. "Do it, Queen," I taunted, daring her to go further.

Reine

Stupid men. Always thinking they're in control.

"Your wish is my command..." I said sweetly, and then I hurled the vase straight at him.

Of course, the asshole ducked, and the vase smashed into the TV instead. The look on his face was priceless—his jaw clenched, eyes wide with shock. Sure, I was a little scared, but seeing that smirk wiped off his stupid, hot face was so worth it.
