The moment the door closed behind the princess I hurriedly messed with my hair and straightened my tunic making sure I at least didn't look like I had been running around like the royal guard I am. It hadn't have been an hour before I heard someone coming up the hall, I reached for my sword instantly because the footfalls were a bit too careful when I listened closely.

"Who goes there." I called out, the person came around the corner and I relaxed leaning against the wall crossing my arms over my chest plate with a small smile. "You know exactly what I listen for don't you?" I asked him, he chuckled.

"Of course," Wilkin said making his way up the stairs, as soon as he was within arms length his hands slid to my waist, I raised my brows.

"Aren't you at all concerned for the safety of your life?" I asked him, his green eyes watched me with a soft glimmer of humor.

"Why should I be? You're not going to shoot me with your fine feathered arrows are you Commander?" He pulled me close his arm sliding around the small of my back, I smirked tossing my hair back with an amused chuckle.

"For all I knew you were an assassin Tannin, you should be more careful when it comes to playing with me." I said and his grin spread so fast that I was worried that he was thinking of testing that.

"Playing with you Commander is all I plan on doing for a long time." He said, I laughed gasping in surprise.

"You are too straightforward Tannin." I said wrapping my arms around his neck leaning in close.

"Its a charming quality my mother tells me." He kissed me once and then agian. Finally I broke away with a laugh.

"I am still on duty." He took my hand and lifted it too his lips with a smile.

"When are you going to come be with me in the night Commander?" He asked, I rose my eyebrows and was quite surprised.

"That night had been a one time thing, I will not make it a habit to leave the Princess unattended Tannin."

"Hmm," He stepped up to me, he was taller by a foot or so and looked down at me with his green eyes glowing in the torch light. "Not even for an hour?" He trailed a hand down my silver chest plate never breaking eye contact.

"I-"

"I'm sure the Princess wouldn't mind." He whispered before he leaned down again and kissed me for so long that I was light headed and couldn't think straight, it was his intent of course. "We could be quick." He whispered giving me light kisses over my face.

"That is not true, you would have me there till morning." I whispered back, he chuckled and hugged me close burying his face into my hair.

"I missed you Sweetheart." He admitted and I laughed softly hugging him back.

"You're getting sappy Tannin, I think I'll have to shoot you if it continues." He pulled away and kissed me again.

"Don't be doing that, it would ruin my performance." I bit back a laugh and kissed him.

"Oh nine hells that would be funny." He kept hold of my hand as he leaned against the wall.

"So I take it a night full of passion isn't appropriate for tonight?" he looked a little sad and I felt bad but I nodded.

"Yes, I have to stay."

"Can I stay and assist in standing guard?" He asked excepting the fact that I wouldn't budge.

"Of course, only as long as you don't distract me." I said, he grinned knowing full well that we were going to distract each other.
