- So I was going to do two different types of vampires due to the differences and the different sources. But going through the strengths and weaknesses of both, there isn't that much of a difference, the main difference, is obviously the source of vampirism. So I will be making it so that there is only one type of vampire, but that there are two distinct sources, one coming from Lilith and one coming from Esther and the Originals. As the lore regarding Lilith in True Blood is more myth than known, it is easier to adapt that than the Originals whose history is much more established. So Lilith was created around the time of Cade (I like the idea that they at least knew each other, or even worked with each other, even maybe lovers when he was alive; just for a lore link for the shows)

- And then The Immortality Spell was then an adaptation of the original-original vampire spell that created Lilith, and then Esther's spell was the original spell that created Lilith.

Vampires vs Food and Drink

Obviously, TVD vampires can eat and drink regular human stuff, and I think that is something I would keep and crossover. It's just one of those things that I feel works better in TVD.

Powers:

Eidetic Memory, Flight, Voice Imitation, and Progeny Calling are all True Blood vampire powers, but they can easily be written into the TVD vampires.

We did kind of see flight from Damon in the first episode along with weather manipulation and compelling animals, but these powers were later written out of the plot by the writers after they were deemed "too supernatural." In True Blood, only some vampires have the ability to fly. It is suggested that older vampires can fly, while younger vampires can merely levitate. When Sookie asked Eric if all vampires can fly, Eric responded "can all humans sing?", suggesting this is more a skill than an innate ability. So it being a specialised vampire skill would make sense in TVD as to why it isn't seen very often.

The Progeny thing is pretty similar to the whole sire thing anyway. Perhaps it could be more common among those of Lilith's bloodline along with the progeny calling.

Weaknesses:

Excess blood (makes them drunk), Hep D, Hep V, maenad blood, silver, and sleep deprivation are all weaknesses with the True Blood vampires, but again, they can all be assigned to the TVD vampires without much difficulty.

Glamour and Compulsion are the same thing really, only Glamour doesn't have vervain as a counter measure.

Laws and the Authority:

There is also the issue regarding the vampire laws, because if those laws apply in TVD, then they get broken, a lot. We also don't know who the Sheriffs are in Virginia as we only see the Louisiana sheriffs. Part of me likes the idea that the Mystic Falls area sheriff is this character, which would work to cover up a lot of the law breaking that occurs.

Same goes for the vampire kings and queens, and whilst there is a vampire king of Virginia, there isn't anything more than the information that he exists.

New Orleans

Obviously New Orleans is a huge part of the Originals, and it is a part of season 5 of True Blood for the American Vampire League. It will be easy to move the AVL to somewhere else, maybe Baton Rouge.

I will go through and make a comprehensive lore adaptation and stuff when I get around to writing the story, but these are just points I have currently thought of.
