The rest of the summer for Myriam was amazing. She got to practice a bunch of spells — Alohomora, Colloportus, Reparo, Episkey, Lumos, Nox, and Wingardium Leviosa — and even brewed a few potions. She found one particular potion in her copy of Advanced Potion-Making, a potion called the polyjuice potion. Myriam learned that the potion once brewed, would turn you into a different person for a certain amount of time. If you put their DNA in there, of course. Myriam and Clara pulled an excellent trick on their dad by turning into each other, Myriam being Clara and Clara being Myriam. They kept that going for two days, drinking the potion until it was entirely gone. They eventually confessed to their father and they all had a great laugh.
Myriam and Alexander had been exchanging letters all over the summer since Alex did not have a telephone. It started one day when a great-horned black owl had brought a letter for Myriam, and they continued to send letters all over the summer.
But the summer had to end eventually, and now it did. It was September 1st, and Myriam was packing her belongings in her trunk. The trunk that Hogwarts had provided her with had an expansion charm on it, so you could fit a lot more in it. She could pack all of Juniper's stuff and all her stuff in it and still have room.
Myriam put the last of her things into her trunk and shut it by waving her wand. Then she walked over to where Juniper was lying — on Myriam's bed of course — and scratched under her chin.
"Are you ready, Juno? I sure am," Myriam whispered lightly. "This is going to be a big change, so I hope you're prepared." Myriam hooked up Juniper's leash to her harness and picked Juniper up, setting her on the ground. She picked up her trunk and walked out her bedroom door.
Myriam was already dressed, but not in her robes. She decided to wear her favorite vest— a maroon, dark beige, and dark gray patterned one. She wore an off-white dress shirt underneath with buttoned cuffs. She wore a burgundy velvet skirt, rose-patterned tights, and brown Doc Martens, as well as a few rings, necklaces, and a pair of rose earrings. She wore off-white clips in her hair, but it didn't do much, her hair was still as wild as ever. Myriam thought of it as a goodbye gesture, wanting to look her best in her family's memory.
Myriam trudged down the stairs as Juniper hopped down, rolling her trunk behind her. Her sister and her dad were down there waiting for her. Her sister was wearing a brown plaid dress that had buttons up the front with an off-white dress shirt underneath, off-white tights, and brown Mary Janes, too. Clara had her long, honey-blonde hair in a ponytail. She was wearing her glasses too, round and golden rimmed, shining against her sea green eyes, the same as Myriam's.
"Took you long enough! We were about to leave without you!" Clara teased, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. She liked to be sarcastic.
"Why would you leave without me? The entire reason we're going to London station is to drop me off at the platform, silly!" Myriam teased back.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Now hurry up! We're gonna be late!" Clara basically pushed them all out the door and into the car, shoving Myriam's trunk in the trunk of the car— how she managed that, unknown. At last, they were all en route to London Station.
"Why are you so excited anyway? You're not even the one going to Hogwarts." Myriam asked.
"I am not excited!" Clara blushed.
"Oh, come on. You basically threw us out the door!" Myriam teased, she liked making her little sister embarrassed.
"I was just in a rush to get rid of you!" Clara crossed her arms.
"Mhm. I know you'll miss me because who's gonna be there to help you with schoolwork? I know that Papa will help, but he's old and learned all this stuff in the sixties-"
