It was a bright new day, but it seemed dark and gloomy for the young teen. It was Saturday and there was no school. Jeremy gets out of bed his whole body burning with pain, he limps to his dresser. 'This is the day I leave. And there will be no turning back this time.' The young teen thinks as he packs his backpack with clothes and money. He quietly steps out of his room and into the hallway, this house was very old so the floors would creak with almost every step. Once he reaches the front door he felt as if he should turn back. 'No. I'm not going back.'
"GOODBYE TO THE POOR EXCUSE I CALL HOME!!" He yells before running out of the house ignoring the pain in his body. He ran and ran until his legs gave out on him, the teen drags himself to a bench nearby. He looks around catching his breath, but something caught his attention when he hears someone crying. He looks around to see a male about his age hugging his knees and crying. Jeremy rises and walks up to the guy, he taps on his shoulder.
"Hey, are you okay?" He can see a blue eye look at him. "Mike? Mike, what's wrong?"
"Why would you want to know?" The older teens voice raw and raspy. He wipes his tears away and looks away from the younger teen.
"I ran away from home..." Jeremy states.
"What?" Mike questions looking at Jeremy.
"I'll tell you why, if you tell me why you are crying."
"I'm not telling you."
"Then I must be leaving."
"No!.. I mean... I don't want to be left alone."
"Okay..." Jeremy sits down next to the crying teen.
"The reason why I'm crying is cause... cause when you left me back there at the café I felt like I had done something terrible to you, I felt like a stupid ass. I didn't go home, so I slept here." Mike looks at Jeremy. "Jer, your eye... It's purple..."
"... Well... my dad-"
"MIKEY!!" A girl yells out. She runs towards him and jumps on him. "Mikey? Are you okay?"
"Doll, y-yes I'm okay." Mike says in a annoyed tone.
"That's great to hear." Doll looks at Jeremy. "Ugh, and who's this?"
"That's Jeremy. And be nice to him."
"No... it's okay, I'm leaving now, you said you didn't want to be alone, and you won't now since you have her around. B-bye Mike, forever." The young teen whispers the last part, his bottom lips quivers. He runs away before he breaks down crying, he can hear Mike yelling after him. Jeremy wipes the flowing tears off his face, 'Why do I have to love him?'
"Shit." He mumbles to himself as he trips on a rock, a deep gash is formed on his knee. He was no where near town anymore, he was at the start of the forest. It was cloudy and cold on the far side of town, rain started to pour down. All he did was lay on the now muddy floor crying, all the energy drained out of him. 'Will anyone help me now? Mike... he didn't follow me. He has Doll, he doesn't love me, no one ever did. I'll just rot and die here and everyone will step on my corpse not bothering to call anyone.'
"Honey." A transparent lady with wings appears in front of the young male. "Jeremy, it's me your mom." Her voice sounded distant. "Don't think such things. Everyone loves you, and if you die the world will be losing a beautiful flower."
"They would be losing a ugly no good flower."
"You have it all wrong, baby. You are too young to go into the afterlife, you have many more things heading your way, you can't give up easily. You are a strong boy." Her voice becoming more distant. "Don't think of the negatives, only the positives. My time is done, I love you dearly."
"I love you too, mom." He watches as her body turns into white particles.
"Jeremy?! Jeremy?! Where are you?! Answer me, please!" Mike calls out starting to cry once again. "J-Jer!"
"Mike!" A small voice called out close by. The small male has stood up and is now looking for the taller male. He sees a tall figure, though he doesn't run towards it fearing it will be a stranger.
"Jer?!"
"Mike!" Jeremy calls out looking towards to figure. Mike turns around to face Jeremy, he starts toward the small male. Jeremy doesn't want to wait for his love to come, he runs to Mike and hugs him tightly.
"Mike, I'm so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry." Jeremy cries. Mike hugs the small male back.
"Jer, it's not your fault, don't blame anything on yourself." Mike strokes Jeremy's hair softly calming him down. Though they have no clue of when they fell on the floor, the small male felt safe in the taller ones arms.
"So, explain that bruise."
"My dad beat me..."
"I'll fuck him up then."
"Haha, you do that. And I have to show you something." Jeremy rolls up his sweater sleeves and shows Mike what he had done to himself.
"Jer, please don't do that."
"I won't." Jeremy looks up to meet blue eyes looking into his green, "Mike, I-I love you."
"I love you too." And with that Mike cups the small teens cheek and kisses him.
