Chapter 2
“Where the hell are we going?” I snapped, glaring at the back of Gray’s head as he pulled me out of the house. He finally let go of my arm and left me standing outside the house as he disappeared into the garage. I crossed my arms and tapped my foot impatiently, debating whether to have a peek in the garage or not. He was probably just getting the car so we could get to wherever it was he was taking me. I heard an engine go off but it didn’t exactly sound like a car.
I turned to see Gray drive out in an absolutely stunning, black motorcycle. I must have been drooling or something because I heard him laugh.
He suddenly chucked a helmet at me, which I thankfully caught due to my fast reflexes… is what I wish I could say. Instead the helmet ended up knocking me right over. Gray didn’t even end up helping me up; he just sat there laughing his ass off. I simply stuck my middle finger up at him and quickly got up. I then resumed staring in awe at the motorbike. “She’s a beauty isn’t she?”
I nodded, still gazing at the sight in front of me. Sadly, up until now, I had never ridden a motorbike. I’d always wanted to, but my mom was too overprotective of me and gave me a long lecture when I’d said I wanted to take lessons. I felt Gray’s eyes on me and looked up to see him smirking at me. I quickly snapped out of my daze and glared at him. “Are you even old enough to ride that?”
He raised an eyebrow and smiled. “Well I am nineteen… so yeah.”
My eyes widened. “You’re nineteen?” For some reason, I’d assumed he was only a year older than me.
“Did you not hear me the first time?”
I glared at him. “I thought you were younger.”
He slipped on his helmet and which triggered me to do the same. “Trust me kid, I’m all man.”
I knew what he was referring to by that comment but I chose to ignore it and slid on to the back of his motorbike. I grabbed the sides of the seat and waited for him to start moving but instead he turned his head around and took in the smirk spread across his face.
“What?” I snapped.
“You ever been on a motorbike before?”
I had the urge to lie, just to wipe that stupid smirk off his face but I simply shook my head.
He smiled. “You might want to hold onto me then.”
“I’m good,” I muttered, looking away.
“You’ll be a lot safer.”
I looked straight at him. “I said I’m fine.”
He chuckled. “Suit yourself then.” He finally started up the engine and without warning, he suddenly took off.
Before I could even think, I had already wrapped my arms around his torso, and was holding onto him with a death grip. Okay then… maybe he was right. I couldn’t see his face but I could already imagine him smirking, as he rode down the road in record speed. It didn’t take long before I finally relaxed and felt the wind brush across my bare thighs. I didn’t mind that it was cold as the feeling of the wind hitting my skin actually felt refreshing. As we turned onto the main road, he picked up speed. I smiled, not caring about our close proximity. I ended up resting my cheek on the leather surface of his jacket and wrapped my arms around him tighter. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t ignore the fact that I could feel his well defined abs under my hands. It let my imagination run wild on what he’d look like topless.
Stop it Sydney.
I was thinking like one of those horny obsessive teenage girls. This was the same guy, who was just a complete ass to me not long ago. Sure, he had saved me from that god awful dinner with Gina and my dad but he was still an ass. Besides, even though he wasn’t my brother in any way, I still didn’t think it was appropriate to be having those thoughts about my own step-brother.
