The last time Jungwon had seen Jay was when he dropped Riki and him off to the dorm. It burns in his memory, how Jay stared at him then with swirling emotions written all over his face, and yet a small smile was still present. A smile only for Jungwon. The second their eyes tore apart and Jay walked away, he felt the sting in his heart and his eyes welled with tears. It all comes back to Jungwon everytime.

Despite it all, he feels Jay everyday as if it haunts him. Through the empty space in his bed when he wakes up, he sees Jay asleep next to him. The food he eats, he sees Jay in the kitchen, cooking his meals. The music that plays, he sees Jay through every lyric and note. Jungwon sees Jay in everything and it frustrates him how he's not in control of his emotions, and yet he loves that he feels Jay's presence because it gives him a sense of calm despite the clench of his chest at the thought of him.

He sees Jay when he looks up at the night sky and sees the stars, or the city lights. He sees Jay's twinkling eyes staring back at him and it all leads back to everything about Jay, Jay's lips, Jay's voice, Jay's gentle touch. Jungwon's afraid they'll all eventually fade away, as if nothing had happened between them.

Nothing... has happened, is what they both thought they'd feel when it's done. After all, it was all planned. An act, a placebo effect. They were meant to separate from the get-go. Still, it hurts. As if everything was real, as if Jay really was his boyfriend, and it hurts Jungwon more not in the way he'd feel when he lost a friend, and not in the way he felt when he broke up with Jaeyun. It hurts in a way he wants to choke on his sobs because he badly wants to knock on Jay's door and just press his lips against his, but he can't. Not when they promised to never fall in love with each other.

Jungwon saw him again today, after his classes were over and he was on his way to his dorm room. When the elevator stopped on Jay's floor, he felt his heart sink a bit, and when the elevator doors opened, Jungwon's suspicions were right.

They both locked eyes and it could almost be seen the way Jay held his breath, staring at Jungwon with his eyes widening the very slightest, although it almost seems unnoticeable with the glasses that sat on his face.

Jay looks the same, yet different at the same time. His hair was platinum and Jungwon's nose scrunches at the thought of the times Jay must've had them bleached, and envisions the way he's complaining under his breath about how his scalp burns.

He was holding a bag which had food in it. Food Jay has cooked. He steps inside the elevator wordlessly, looking away.

They're silent until the elevator doors close. Jay presses on a button on a floor Jungwon has never been on.
