"Sweetie, we can't miss any days for work, you know that-"
My dad said to me but I cut him off.

"But think about your family for once instead of always thinking about work."
I said to my parents.

"We always think about you and Minhui, don't ever think me and your dad don't think about you two-"
My mom said to me but I cut her off.

"But you never show it."
I said to my mom.

➤ I slowly got out of the chair in the kitchen and went upstairs. My dad offered to help me go up the stairs but I told him I didn't need help.

[ MIN'S POV ]

➤ I went upstairs and sat on my bed slowly. I cried and cried reflecting on everything.

[ 1 WEEK LATER ]

➤ My parents had to leave for work today and they wanted me and Minhui to see them off.

"We're about to leave."
My dad said to me and Minhui.

➤ Me and Minhui didn't say anything.

"Minhui-ah, here's an early birthday gift from me and dad."
My mom said to Minhui.

"I don't want that, I know that gift is not what I asked for for my birthday."
Minhui said to my mom.

"What did you ask for, sweetie?"
My mom asked Minhui.

"I asked for a birthday party where it's all of us together."
Minhui said to my mom.

➤ My parents sighed.

"We're so sorry Minhui-ah, me and your mom really wants to be here for your 9th birthday but we can't miss work-"
My dad said to Minhui but she cut him off.

"There's no need to apologize, I'm used to all of this."
Minhui said to my dad.

➤ My parents were silent.

"We have to get going, we love you both so much, keep the house clean and tidy."
My mom said to me and Minhui.

➤ My parents left out the door and I closed the door behind them.

"Thank you Min."
Minhui said to me.

"For what?"
I asked Minhui.

"For always be here with me."
Minhui said to me.

➤ I smiled at Minhui.

"And thank you for always being here with me too, Minhui-ah."
I said to Minhui.

➤ Minhui smiled and nodded.

"So who are you going to invite for your birthday party?"
I asked Minhui.

"Um....my friends from school, our aunt and uncle, and you can bring your friends too....can you invite Mr. Handsome guy?"
Minhui asked me.
