Jeonghan stood in front of the mirror, the light casting a warm glow around him. He looked at his outfit- a black smooth jacket that feels like a gentle embrace with slacks. With a final nod, he smiled and left for his cousin's wedding.
After driving for a while, he arrived at the wedding venue. He went into the building, his energy radiating confidence as he walked. He spotted his best friend in the crowd, talking to someone else and he went to them.
"Hey, Jeonghan!" His best friend, Joshua, greeted him when he saw him walking toward them. "Hi, Shua!" Jeonghan hugged him. "Why are you hugging? Are you American?" Joshua joked, chuckling. "No, but I used to live there for a while." He answered. "Right! You got back just last week. I forgot because we're meeting almost every day." Joshua said with a smile. "You're right. Let's go to our seats. I can't stand for long." Jeonghan said and Joshua nodded.
"What time does the event start, by the way?" Jeonghan asked, looking around the venue. "You should know that, Hannie." Joshua teased, knowing Jeonghan had a tendency to forget things. "Hey! I'm here as a guest. I can't remember everything." Jeonghan pouted a little, giving his best friend a mock-glare. "Yeah, yeah. I know, no need to pout at me." Joshua said.
After a few moments, the show host announced that the ceremony is about to start. "Everyone, please take a seat, the ceremony is about to begin." The host said, catching the guests' attention. Jeonghan stopped talking and looked at the entrance waiting for the bride to come in.
Soon, the bride, dressed in a white gorgeous wedding gown, came in with a proud smile on her face and flowers in her hands. "She looks beautiful." Jeonghan whispered to his best friend. "She is!" Joshua replied, agreeing to Jeonghan's words.
The wedding ceremony ended after a couple of hours and Jeonghan was about to go back to his apartment when he heard a familiar voice. "Jeonghan..." He froze in his place; he could recognize that voice without even needing to look back. When he turned around, he saw him, his ex-lover was standing before him. "Seun...Seungcheol" Jeonghan stumbled back a little.
"Long time no sees. How have you been?" Seungcheol asked, rising his eyebrows. "I'm good" Jeonghan replied, forcing a small smile. "I'm glad you're fine...after breaking someone's heart." Seungcheol said, his face emotionless and cold. "I-I didn't mean to." Jeonghan said, his expression filled with guilt although he tried not to show it. "Of course you don't. How can I forget you are a good person?" Seungcheol replied, his voice laced with sarcasm.
"I'm leaving." Seungcheol said and walked out of the venue without looking back, making Jeonghan confuse. "What is wrong with him?" Jeonghan muttered to himself. After a few minutes, he also left the venue and headed back home.
And just like that, the first chapter is done!!
