"Alif Allah cham bedi buti,
Man vich murshid layi hu,
Nafee asbaad da paani milya,
Har rage harjayi hu.....""Maine us podhe ki nafee asbat ke paani se abyaarei ki, Nafee - lailaha Asbat - ilallah
Aur uski khushbu ko apne har rago-reshe me basa liya...The sweet and loud voice of Gamu Mashiki was blooming and echoing in the cold breeze of Jhogjeevan like always. He was reciting the kalaam of "Hazrat Bahu rehmatullah alayh" like he always does.
After the salah of fazr he always goes to well of the village and tied his mashk (the container in which he fills the water) with the pulley of well and threw it in the well and with all his emotions he starts to recite the kalaam of Hazrat Bahu rehmatullah alayh...
"Peer mile te pidh na jave, oh peer ki krna,
Jis murshid thi rooshd na ho ve, oh murshid ki krna ho ve..."The pulley was rotating with the sound of
gharrr.... gharrrrr.... And the rope which was tied with the pulley swing because of the weight of mashk which was tied with it and at that while Gamu was physically present over there holding that rope but mentally he has reached in the another world of his own.He don't know how to read Quran (the holy book of Muslims) and he don't know any Hadith or didn't even knew how pray Salah. He only knew was the kalaam of Hazrat Bahu rehmatullah alayh. And that also he learn from his father. In childhood whenever his father used to recite this kalaam, he used to listen it carefully and by that he also started reciting the kalam. He also used to go madrasa (place where Islamic teacher teach how to recite Quran, Hadith, and Salah) like other children's do, but in his childhood his father died and then he left the madrasa and started doing the work of "Mashiki"
In his early ages his name was "Gulam Mohammad" and after his father died he started doing the work which his father use to do. He took his father's mashk and started filling it from the well and fill the empty pots and tanks of villagers. And as the time passed peopled started calling him "Gamu Mashiki"
He was very happily doing this work because he always enjoyed this work. His whole generation was Mashiki (People who fill their mashk from the well and distributes it to the villagers). His father, grandfather also used to do the same thing. And he also has the habit of going to well with his father and fill the mashk and distribute water to villager from his childhood. And from the day his father died he took his father's responsibility of distributing the water to villagers and watering everything of village.
He enjoy watering the plants, trees and the dry mud of village, every single animal and creature of this village is possessed by the beauty in his voice, while he recite the kalam
and people seems like their thirst is not quenched until they drink the water he gives. From the age of 3yrs he used to walk with his father with his small steps, he walk like a with the father by his side, he walk by the roads of Jhogjeevan, there were 50-60 houses in the village, and he used to reach to the every house with his father, his father used to fill the empty utensils of villagers from his mashk. While reciting the Kalaam of "Hazrat Bahu rehmatullah alayh" and while his father recite that kalaam it's like that kalaam was getting printed in that small Gulam Mohammad's brain. His father's voice doesn't have any kind of emotions in his voice, but in the voice of Gulam Mohammad there was emotions, sweetness and such a beauty that, if once anyone listen to his voice they can't forget it, people get possessed by the beauty of his voice.
"Jis haandi thi nayi hidayat, oh haadi ki krna hoye, murshid aeen hayati Bahu, ruhnu vich samaya hoy..."
At that time mashk got hit by the bottom of the well and pulley stopped rotating, in the light darkness also he understood, that mashk has reach to the water level and now it got buried in the water and slowly-slowly it is taking the water inside. Gamu was standing on the edge of well and while standing there by not looking at mashk he can see that how much the mashk is filled and how much it is empty. And by that he know when he have to take the mashk out. After sometime he looked at the mushk which was filled by the water and now he was pulling the mashk filled of water.
"Kiti Jaan hawale rab de, Aesa Ishq kamaya hu,
Maran te pehle mar gye Bahu, Ka matlab nu paya hu...."When he pulled the mashk full of water out the well, till that many street dogs of the village came near him to drink water, they never bark on Gamu because he is only one in the whole village who always quenched their thirst day and night. Gamu poured the cold water from the mashk in the utensil type structure made of stone near the well. He poured the water in that till the last dog also quenched their thirst.
"Jaanda murshid kaa sadtra, Tahi beparwahi ho, Raati jaagya ki hoya, Je murshid jaag na layi ho...."
End of the Chapter.....
