"W-w-what? Necole, stop fooling around! Th- that wasn't here. You made it, right?"
I shook my head. We had just found where his great-grandmother Olivia Ellis had lived before the Winter. "B-but my parents said that Grams was crazy when she told me those stories of America. She had grown up in Canada. That's why we get to live in the Homeland sector." He sat and put his head in his hands. "If the officers found out, they would all be executed. We can't let them find this house."
I wrapped an arm around him. "They won't. We'll sleep here and then we'll leave. Sound good?" Cordell nodded. "Alright. Now, go to one of the bedrooms at the end of the hall. Get some rest." As Cordell went down the hallway, I stuffed the decoration in my pack. I didn't want to leave it here for the officers to find.

I went back into the kitchen. I found a cupboard that had unopened bags of "Potato Chips". Hopefully they would still be good. Downstairs, I found clear bottles containing water. My pack was stuffed. As I walked upstairs, I began to feel how tired I was. My legs ached from running. My head hurt from the cold. I went to the bathroom, cleaned my scratches. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.
