Character focus for chapter 3: Dream

---------------- --------------- --------------------

Dream nudged Blue awake, but it didn't work. He resorted to shoving his friend off his bed, which actually did work. And also resulted in one really pissy Blue. Dream squeaked and scrabbled away, out of the room and out of the throwing range. Because Blue tended to throw things when Dream woke him up.

He was just... Really giddy, after receiving news from Ink earlier that morning. Nightmare had agreed to the truce, which meant that there would be no more fighting between the sides anymore. Dream was absolutely excited for it, thinking about how much more time he would be able to spend with all the people he loved. And the person he LOVED.

(He was thinking he would begin to silently pray that Cross was never busy.)

Dream tied up his boots, slipped on his hood, and stood anxiously by the door. He had been expecting Ink to show up and take them to Nightmare's castle so that all of both sides could be there. Blue took forever in the mornings because he was tired, obviously. Not at all a morning person, but hey, things could change!

(Again, Dream silently prayed it would.)

Eventually, Blue tumbled down the stairs and landed at Dream's feet. He helped him up and dragged him out the door, giggling gleefully and not even bothering to wait for Ink.

But they didn't even have to, for as they began to run, they ended up running into their painter friend. Ink snorted and jerked Blue away from Dream, who frowned.

"Dream seems... Full of energy today. Bet that's tiring ya, isn't it, Swap?"

Blue nodded, mumbling. Dream rolled his eyes and tapped his foot impatiently. The absolute desire to just hold his lover... Kiss him... With passion...

(Then, he had to stop himself before his thoughts got any dirtier.)

Ink led the way from there, even though all of them knew how to get to Nightmare's castle anyway: Dream often went to visit Nightmare, and Blue used to sneak out and sit on Dust and Horror's floor. (Specifically on nights Horror slept downstairs.)

After a run through the forest-- in which, Dream pretended he was Little Red Riding Hood, and Ink momentarily thought "Screw the truce, let's roleplay!" and played the part of the wolf-- they arrived at Nightmare's castle.

They didn't even have to ring the doorbell. Apparently, with the help of the Bad Guys' new Ring doorbell, they saw the Star Sanses coming and sent Cross to answer the door.

"Bold of you guys to come here," he mumbled, looking crossly at the group. Dream shrunk under his gaze, but Cross's expression did not soften.

"THEY'RE HERE!" Cross hollered up the stairs as they walked inside.

Only moments later, Nightmare appeared, looking like a fine gentleman. Dream beamed at him once he noticed the bright blush that exploded across Killer's face. He was so happy for his brother and his partner.

"So, Ink," Nightmare began.

Ink nodded at him, eyeing the papers in Nightmare's hands. Dream had no idea what they were or why they were necessary for the truce, and honestly, he felt stupid. They had to just be some sort of official document stating on this day, the truce was signed and what said truce held.

The two leaders nodded at each other after a while of murmuring and scribbling on the documents. At last, Nightmare cleared his throat to catch the attention of everyone in the room.

"Today marks the end of our fighting!" he announced. "And the start of our friendships!"

Horror cupped his hands over his mouth. "DUST IS ALREADY ENGAGED SUCKER!"

Nightmare frowned at him. "Hold on, since when the actual fuck?"

Dust didn't seem ready to talk about it. He gave Horror a fierce death glare, but his crackhead friend didn't seem bothered by it.

Nightmare sighed. "Whatever that's about, tonight we eat together as friends. For now, you may all spend time together, I don't really care."
