It started one day, the way he looked at me. Scrawny little Stiles, the annoyingly loud kid a few grades down, walks up to me, fidgeting with his hands. "Uh, hey Derek, did you need any help with anything?" He asks tilting his head as he stops in front of me.

"Nope!" I respond, walking around him, trying to ignore him. He catches up to me and says; "I'll carry your books to the library." I froze, I didn't know what to do, I didn't know what to say.

I looked over at him, he was acting so strange, falling over himself. He stumbles to a stop before returning to my side. I glare at him. "You're scaring me now, take a look at yourself. I don't know what game you're playin', but I don't want to play it."

"N-no, no game. I just, you know, wanted to be nice. I realise I can be annoying and strange. But I wanted to show you I have a helpful side, and maybe make you less angry at me." He says looking down at his hands.

I look at him confused before sighing. "Fine, here." I shove my books in his arms. Which he awkwardly catches. "I don't know how you knew but yeah I have a free period. Carry them to the library and leave. No talking to me on the way."

He nods as I walk away. He follows a step behind me. I notice people looking at us weirdly and I just glare at them. When we reach the library I walk up to a table and point at it. He carefully puts them down and turns to me. "Anything else?" He asks innocently.

"No! Thank you." I say turning away from him as he nods. I don't feel him move so I glare at him as he looks at me smiling. "R-right see ya!" He says before he tries to hug me goodbye. I growl at him as he steps closer. He drops his arms and hurries away.

I sit down at the table confused. 'Why would he want a hug?' Then suddenly I realised something. 'Oh no, does he like me?' I sigh. 'What do I do?'

Stiles was walking down the pavement trying to talk to me. I of course was ignoring him. He wasn't looking where he was going and fell over a hedge. I try and hide my laughter.

"Derek, wait. Hey!" He says getting up. "Look, Derek, man, what are you doing right now? Maybe we could hang out."

"No." I quickly respond. "Aw come on. I'm not doing anything and you seem to be bored walking around." I sigh. "Stiles, what made you think I'd want to hang out with you?" I say, still not stopping to have a conversation.

He walks in front of me and begins walking backwards. "Well, I don't know. You seem lonely. And I've been told I occupy the space of at least 3 people. I thought someone quiet like you would even out my waterfall-like mouth. I could do all the ta-" He walked into a tree.

I laugh before bending down to offer a hand. "Aha, see I made you laugh. No one can do that, since you're always frowning. No one except me. You could benefit from having me around." He says proudly, taking my hand. I pull my hand back glaring at him, once he's on his feet again.

"I don't need anyone around. Especially an annoying Spaz like you." I say walking away.

"Oh! Ok." He says sadly and quietly before walking away.

'Something's not right, it's not the way it used to be.'

I'm at a party on Saturday night. 'I don't want to be here but where else am I gonna be.' I stand against a wall, away from all the drunk teenagers, watching as they rub all over each other.

I look over to the drinks area, watching as Stiles takes a drink, his friend Scott trying and failing to tell him to stop. Stiles argues back pointing in my vicinity before sculling the drink.
