• In which Richie Tozier doesn't give a shit •

Fast forward three months. Eddie had been dating Fernie for three months now, and from what Richie's heard, it's going fast. He walked in on them making out once, and felt like spilling his guts out. He would be standing against the brick school building smoking, and catch them laughing together. He remembered when that used to be him and Eddie. But Fernie had ruined their relationship together. They barely talked anymore, Richie forgotten and left behind like usual.

The Losers had kinda abandoned Richie at the same time, either infatuated with each other romantically or just not interested in who he was. The only reason he was ever really in the Losers was because of Eddie. He would skip lunch most days, watching as Fernie took his spot at the lunch table and everyone forgot about him. He would just spend hours beneath the tree that stood facing the exit door, holding in tears and screams that would tell every one of his pain.

He watched from beneath that same tree a warm May morning as the bell rang and students came spilling out of the school like ants from a hive. The Losers themselves came out, laughing and joking around as usual. Fernie was among them, holding Eddie's hand and laughing along with them, like Richie had never existed and it was always Fernie. Eddie took notice of him apparently and told the Losers something before heading over to him. He grimaced and ground out his half-smoked cigarette before standing up taller, stoic as usual.

"Hey, Rich!" Richie scanned his features (he had a light blush across his face and a big smile) before responding with a simple hey. He watched silently as Eddie's smile faltered slightly. Clouds started to gather, threatening to spill its rain over them. "H-How have you been lately? I haven't seen you much!" Richie kept his stoic expression on his face, crossing his arms. "Hmm." Eddie's smile disappeared and he frowned slightly. "Rich, what is with you?" Richie scoffed and flipped the bird at him, grabbing his backpack, slinging it over one shoulder, and walking away. Eddie stood there, gaping at him.

The rain started to fall, and the Losers called to Eddie to hurry up. Eddie watched after Richie's slouching figure, shocked. Nonetheless, he ran back to his girlfriend and the Losers, as Richie walked home, wet and alone. He didn't care.

Nobody cared.
