When I got him to shore I realised that he wasn't breathing. Of course he isn't breathing, he drowned! I don't know what to do... Merpeople weren't taught how to deal with land people issues.
Merpeople can filter the air from the water with their gils to prevent drowning so it really didn't matter.
I think back to when I was a child. The first time I ever saw a land person. My father took me and my sisters to a beach, we were secluded so no one saw us, but. There was a man, he was lying on the beach unconscious. Not breathing. A girl landperson ran up to him and did somethimg amazing. She brought him back to life by pushing on his chest and breathing air into his lungs. When he woke up he spat out a whole bunch of water so its clear that he must have drowned. I guess it's worth a shot...
I slowly begin the process by placing my hands on his chest. I push down with all my strength repeatedly, hoping it will work. Nothing happens. I lean over his face and move a wet strand of hair from his eye. I have to do it. Carefully I take in a deep breath then open his mouth slightly, and press my lips to his. Still, nothing happens. I try again, realizing his lips are soft and salty, I guess that's because of the sea, but never mind that! I need to save him.
It took some time but suddenly his eyes flutter and water pours from his mouth. He coughs for a minute before I hear.
"Jack!" I look across the beach and see a figure running towards us. I need to go. Without thinking I push my lips against his, he doesn't kiss me back. He dosent know me. I drag myself back to the sea and swim for a little while, far enough to feel safe. I lift my head out from the water and watch him. The figure I saw has made it to Jack and is helping him up. I can hear what there saying so I listen.
"JACK! I was so worried, people were saying you were a lost cause. But I couldn't believe that" the figure looks like the same man Jack had been talking to back on the ship.
"Thank you, for not believing that" Begins Jack "If you had believed it, I would probably die on this little island"
"Hahaha, there you are! Always thinking positive" there was sarcasm in his voice.
"Ha-ha, yeah..."
"what's wrong mate?" Asked the man.
"Oh...I was wondering, Did you see anyone else here. With me."
"No, I don't think so, why?"
"There was a boy, he must have saved me"
"Well I saw no boy, but. It sounds like your leaving something out"
"He kissed me Berry." Jack looked away as he said this.
"Oh...well there was no boy here, so don't worry about it. I'll tell you what, when we get back home I'll introduce ya to all the ladies. Remember, we talked about that?"
"...alright"
Soon enough they both get on the boat with the others and leave. I'll never see him again, it woudnt make sense. He will be gone meeting some girls and I'll be stuck in the sea...also meeting girls. There's no way father would accept me with a boy. I didn't even think I would, but now. I can't see myself with a girl, only him. Jack.((Sorry this chapter is so short, it should have been longer but everything I wrote didn't save so I had to start over. I wanted to update today though so I couldn't write alot, I'll make up for it in the next chapter though!))
