The rays of the sun gleamed in my bedroom as it still rose, awakening me from my slumber. I forgot to close the curtains last night. I swung my legs over the bed to the carpeted floor, walking my way over to close the curtains to return to my sleep. But only to be interrupted again by someone who barged into my room without a care, 'Get your ass up, sleepyhead!' It was my brother... Why so early in the morning? I groaned as I pulled my other pillow over my head, I swear once I'm fully awake, I'm giving this boy a concussion. 'Get out of my room before you stink this whole place up!'

'You have a way with your words.' A different male spoke up, causing me to sit up. Abriel was beside my bed, while Jere leaned against the doorframe. 'What could you guys possibly need from me this early?' I whined, Abriel glanced at Jeremiah and turned his attention to me again, 'Do you wanna miss out on pancakes and waffles?' And that was enough for me to rush to my en-suite to get ready for the day.

I rushed down the long spiral stairs and made my way to the dining room, the astonishing smell of breakfast filled my nostrils. 'Morning, sweetheart.' Laura greeted me as I took my seat beside my brother, 'Morning, Laura.' I grinned. A plate was ready in front of me, well-cooked pancakes stacked with a finishing touch of maple syrup and whipped cream, and a mug of hibiscus-infused tea. Taking my first bite of the day, already tasting heaven, How thankful I am to have Chef Mike and Chef Turner.

'Any of you kids busy today? Before the week starts tomorrow.' Cole questioned before he took another bite of his meal, 'No.' All four kids spoke in unison. 'Why, dad?' Carl raised an eyebrow, 'Dinner at Tanneyhill tonight, I'd like to introduce you, Victoires to the Camerons, Ward heard about your move-in and wanted to meet you all.' The man stated, turning his attention to my mother, 'I think Abriel n' Jo would get along with Ward's kids.' At that, my mother glanced at me and my brother. The Camerons? I heard they're quite a family here on the Outer Banks with a certain reputation. 'I can see Josephine getting along with Sarah.' Laura intervened, Sarah? Who's Sarah? 'Definitely.' Jere added.

The Fishers are relatively close with the Camerons, for the reason that Cole is a partner of Ward in the Cameron Development. At this point, their families had come together as family friends, just like mine and the Fishers. I guess I can see why Cole wanted to introduce us, being that we are new to the island, and I sure do need to make friends here. We've been so busy lately with the estate auction, moving into Maryhill, and refurnishing it; giving us Victoires no time to settle in.

'So, what do you say, Vivienne?'

'Sure, I think it sounds like a great idea.'

'You ruined my line!' Carl groaned, us kids decided to go fishing today, especially the boys. As they were fishing, I decided to lay back deciding to not get my hands dirty for today, I'm not really interested in fishing as much as they are. 'Goblok!' Abriel cursed, How can the guys already ruin fishing not even a minute in? 'Don't.' I warned Jeremiah who was holding a fish with a devilish smirk on his face, but that didn't stop him from throwing the fish at me as I yelped and kicked the fish off of the Bowrider. 'My fish!' He exclaimed, 'Well maybe you should've thought twice before throwing it at me, oh right I forgot, your brain is too small to even have the ability to think not once!'

Once the guys were done fishing, we all sat and brought our cooler out that stored our beers cold, the Bowrider sitting afloat in the marsh. 'Tell us everything we need to know about the Camerons.' Abriel urged to ask, For a minute I forgot about having to meet the family tonight. 'Well, Ward Cameron, the father, owns Cameron Development.' Carl knew more about them, being the oldest kid out of all, 'Ward was a pogue, but he changed to a massive kook, a hard-working man he is.'

'Okay, I don't get the whole kook and pogue thing.' Abriel exclaimed, 'Well kooks are the rich, and pogues are the-' 'Obviously I know that, I meant why should the whole kooks versus pogues be a thing!' Abriel threw his hands up in frustration, 'Yeah, and what about the middle class? What are they called?' I intervened.
