I'm sorry,
I lied, cheated, and stole from you.
I never even returned your heart.
Now it's too late, and it's shattered.
But you should see the regret in my chocolate brown eyes.
They're filled with tears of sadness,
Hoping for forgiveness.
I never should've lied about her.
Next time there's a new girl in my life, I'll text you.
I know you have not recovered
From the hurt I've laid on you,
But there won't be a better chance to tell you this story.
She snuck into your bedroom,
Hoping to post a picture of herself up
On that mirror with the pictures of all of your best friends.
She had not been plotting to steal me from you from the beginning.
She just wanted to be on your mirror.
She snuck up on you, surprised you, and you let her in.
That was your choice.
You accepted her and let her get close; be your friend.
Soon she held the most precious spot on your mirror.
But when you told her about me,
She didn't know what she would feel.
You had my heart in a box, protected, and all yours.
Nobody could've opened it but you.
One night she couldn't help but let her curiosity win.
She forced open the secretive box, and peeked.
She saw a dashing prince charming,
She just couldn't have seen anyone more beautiful.
It's hard to tell you,
But the feeling became mutual.
A prince met a princess that night.
Your best-friend-turned-enemy is now in my arms,
While you lay in your bedroom with an empty box,
No heart.
I guess that's what happens when you steal someone's heart.
They're left heartless.
Forgive me,
But I couldn't resist
The satisfying feeling
Of hearing your heart break.
