0. Intro.
1. Names, Spelling, and Capitalization.
2. The Basics.
3. Point of Views.
4. Past, Present, and Future Tense.Obviously, grammar is important in writing stories such as fanfictions, fiction, and nonfictions! (Though, you probably write fanfiction). There are common grammar mistakes in the books I've read on here, which isn't a bad thing! I've had some fair share of grammar mistakes, too!
Normally, you don't want your paragraphs to be too short or too long. You have to think about other device users (specifically desktop) and not only mobile. It may look long on your phone, but it'll look like a few sentences on your desktop. You want your paragraphs to be at least three lines on the desktop (if that makes sense). It doesn't mean you can't write a few sentences every once in a while.
1. Names, Spelling, and Capitalization.
Names in dialogue should be capital, not all lowercase or all capital.Sande ✅️
sande ❎️
SANDE ❎️Names and nicknames should have a comma before them! Sometimes, it's not required (or in another place), but most of the time, it is.
examples:
" I love your outfit, darling. "
" You look beautiful today, dear. "" Wowie, another stupid book by Sande! "
" Baby, you're kind of acting dumb right now. "You should also make sure you're spelling the name right! It won't make sense if the name is spelled incorrectly. Plus, who knows? Your book might get popular to the point that you can't go back and edit it because your comments will be moved, and no one will know what the comments are talking about.
1: " Yo, Sand won't come today. "
2: " Who the fuck is Sand? "
3: " Just bring some sand from the dessert. Boom, problem solved. "
1: " I meant Sande. "
3: " I spelled desert wrong. "
2: " 💀 "
-
1: " I gaped so loud right now. "
2: " Isn't it gasped? "
1: " Shit, yeah. "
3: " Is this a goreworm reference? 🙀 "
-
1: " I love nano. "
2: " You love small things? "
1: " I meant Nanno. "
2: " skill issue "It's important to proofread your chapter multiple times to check if you have any grammar/spelling mistakes unless you want people to make fun of it (or if you're lucky, people will correct them). If you want your writing to be flawless, you have to find the flaws first!
2. The Basics.
This is basically common knowledge in grammar!. = Period/Full Stop.
-- This is used to end a sentence if you didn't know." We finish each other's sandwiches. "
... = Ellipsis.
-- This is used for pauses and suspension. Sometimes used when the character is nervous or is lying. While I was doing a little research, I found out that there is a correct order, which is: phrase, punctuation mark (if needed), space, ellipsis, space, next phrase. But, I don't see that being written in books, only in certain articles. Also, it can be used for slience." Oh... That's okay! "
" ...No, I didn't do that at all. "
" Wait... What? "
" Sorry, what did you say...? "
" I think you're cool...! "
" ... "
