5 Years

Hey gang! Sorry, I haven't been that active, I have exams this week so I haven't had that much time to write, but now I'm back.
Hope you enjoy this one.

One afternoon, Charlie gets a text from his current boyfriend Ben Hope.

"Can I come over?" Ben asks.

An excited Charlie takes a picture of himself and sends it to Ben.

"Do you want to come over to tell me how much you love me? Because I love you more than anything 😘" he replies.

"I can't come over," Ben says. "I need to tell you something but it's too hard to tell you in person."

Charlie got confused and well, a bit anxious.

"What's going on Ben?" He asks

"It's over Charlie. I can't do this anymore."

"What!? Why!? Did I do something!?" Charlie cries. "Whatever it is, we can fix it! Right!?"

"No, we can't." Ben coldly says.

Before Charlie gets a chance to reply, Ben blocks him. This was so unfair! Ben breaks up with Charlie and doesn't give him a reason why! That was heartless of him.

Two years later

Charlie was taking a walk in the park with his new boyfriend's dog. His new boyfriend is a sweet guy named Nick Nelson.

"Wanna come over this weekend?" Nick asked.

Charlie was a little bit skeptical. Even though it's been two years, he still hasn't moved on from Ben. "You okay, Charlie?" Nick asked

"Y-yea! I'm fine. Just a bit worried that if I get too attached to you, you'll leave me." Charlie says while tearing up.

Nick hugged Charlie and said "I know you got your heart broken two years ago. I know it's hard to trust and to love again, but I'm here for you Charlie. I'm not going anywhere, I like you."

Charlie smiled when he heard that. That was reassuring. "I like you too Nick." Charlie smiled. "I'd love to come over this weekend."

Three Years Later.

Charlie and Nick were at their apartment cuddling on their couch. All was well until Charlie got a text from a familiar stranger...

It was his ex-boyfriend, Ben.

"Hi Charlie..." he texted.

Charlie was surprised. It's been five years since they've spoken. Ben unblocked him from Instagram and now that Charlie has a boyfriend, he's speaking to him.

"Ben? You unblocked me?" Charlie asked

"Yeah," he replied. "Truth be told, I missed you, Charlie. I've missed us. I want you back."

"You want me back?"

"Look I was an idiot back then. I should've never dumped you. I was young and insecure, things were moving too fast." Ben ranted.

"You do know I've got a boyfriend now, right?" Charlie said.

"I know that. Break up with Nick, you belong to me. Give us another chance." Ben commanded. "I know you still love me. I still love you, Charlie."

Charlie was conflicted when Ben said that. Deep down in his heart, he still loved Ben, but now he's got Nick in his life. What should he do?

"Did your ex text you?" Nick asked while he's got his eyes closed.

A surprised Charlie looked at Nick and said: "Yeah, he did. He wants me back."

"I know a part of you still loves him, Charlie," Nick said. "But he's not good for you. Out of the blue, the guy broke up with you. He brutally broke your heart."

"And you put it back together," Charlie replied. "But we have so much history...Ben and I. But my history is him leaving me..."

Nick hugged Charlie. "I love you, Charlie. If you want to give Ben another chance, then fine. But I fight for the people I love." Nick said.

Charlie thought about it and decided that Nick's right. He's always been there for him, and he always will be as long as Charlie lets him. Nick is kind, supportive, consistent, and caring. He's the right person for Charlie.

Charlie kissed Nick on the forehead and then texted Ben.

"Did you dump him yet?" Ben asked."

"No, and I'm not going to," Charlie replied. "I'm sorry Ben, but you're not right for me."

"What?" Ben asked.

"I need someone who can give me consistent and unconditional love," Charlie said.

"I can give that!" Ben yelled.

"I used to think you could, but now I know you can't. You broke up with me without a reason, you ghosted me and blocked me on every social media platform I owned, and you haven't spoken to me in five years until now! I was hoping you would apologize, but now that I have a boyfriend you want me back!? Now I know the reason why we shouldn't be together." Charlie ranted

"So that's it then? No second chances?" Ben asked.

"Goodbye, Ben," Charlie said and then blocked him on every social media platform he owned.

Charlie started tearing up, but Nick hugged him to prevent him from crying.

Nick loved Charlie very much...
