Alhaitham x Reader x Kaveh (fluff)

Reader has social anxiety and anxiety just in general. Not really a people person.

As I walked down the roads of Sumeru City in search of a colleague's home, I knocked on many stranger's doors. Each apology shattered my willpower to keep searching based off of the crappy directions my friend wrote for me. Imagine a map without a compass on it, I didn't even know if I was holding the darn thing right!

I approached one last house, if this wasn't it I was going to either blow my bolts, lose my screws, or just vanish off the planet entirely. A more likely scenario would be that I start crying uncontrollably. Sumeru was still fairly new to me, shame on my friend who left me such a crappy drawing.

I knocked quietly on the door and didn't hear anything for a while. I waited a little longer until I knocked a little louder, cursing myself afterwards for dooming my fate. My heart pounded as I heard quiet footsteps coming closer to the door.

A small creak let me know that someone made it to the door, but it wasn't who I had hoped it was. Of all people, it just had to be a big shot. Alhaitham stood in the doorway as I slowly looked up at him past all his built glory.

"Can I help you?" He asked.

"Aha, that is the question." I said on the brink of breaking down. "I've been wandering this damn place all day." He looked concerned. "I-I have been trying to find my friend's house all day, an-and I'm just this close to breaking." I held my fingers up, barely apart.

"Ah, I see," He started, "Would you like to come in for a small rest then?" It was weird, I had heard rumors that Alhaitham never really invited others to his home, so why was he inviting me in? I nodded my head meekly. A drink and a little bit of rest would be wonderful for my aching feet and throbbing headache.

He gestured me inside and guided me to the kitchen where we ran into Kaveh. I stopped and looked between the two. (I look at him, and he looks at me, AND I LOOK AT HIM, AND HE LOOKS AT ME). Alhaitham facepalmed, and Kaveh looked up confused.

"Ignore him, what did you want to drink?" He asked. "Just... some water, is fine." I looked over to Kaveh and he gave a small smile and a wave. "What brings you to this humble abode?" Kaveh asked. I felt a huge wave of emotion flow through me, tears threatened my eyes at the thought of what happened throughout the day.

"I was supposed to meet a work friend, but the map they gave me, I- I don't even know, I knocked on so many doors, I've been walking for so long, I'm so done." A tear fell from my face, and the two now looked very concerned. "My feet hurt and my head hurts and I'm just tired."

I realized now that, that probably didn't answer Kaveh's question. He didn't rephrase it either, just looked towards Alhaitham and the two nodded to each other. Kaveh took off in one direction while Alhaitham continued getting some water and now looking for something else. "Is there anything in particular that you like to eat?" He asked. "I like panipuri, but I'm not picky."

The question caught me off guard and brought me out of my thoughts for a while, until I remembered the reason I was at this house in the first place. Anger took over the confusion, then overstimulation took over that. There had been too many interactions with unknown people for my liking. Alhaitham stopped what he was doing and brought me a glass of water and then ushered me into another room with a large screen and rather large couch.

He sat me down and began going through some movies and threw a select few onto the table in front of me. "Choose some." And with that he scurried off. Kaveh came into the room a little after, with a multitude of blankets with different textures and pillows. I was confused beyond belief at this point.

"What's going on?" I asked. "Weellll, it's a secret." Kaveh replied with a chuckle. I glanced at the movies and recognized a few and picked them out of the pile while Kaveh and I were apparently waiting for Alhaitham. He returned promptly with a multitude of snacks and drinks and began placing them on the table while I sipped my water.

"Alright, that should do, give me one of the movies please doll," Alhaitham said. I picked one of the ones I hadn't watched the longest and handed it to him. "Thank you." He placed it in the player and I watched the large screen come to life. The couch dipped on either side of me, and a blanket draped over my legs. "What is going on?" I asked. "You have been out and about all day, even we know when it's time to take a break. Just relax, watch some movies, recharge." Alhaitham said.

"If there is anything you want, we will be more than happy to help." Kaveh chipped in. Tears welled up again and fell down my face silently. It was the first time since I had moved here, that someone showed genuine concern for my wellbeing. "Then, if you say anything, ca-can I lean on you two?" It felt embarrassing to ask, but a lot of my comfort came from contact with those I didn't consider total strangers. I guess they were a lot more than that to me now. Alhaitham pulled me close to him and left his arm around my shoulders, and Kaveh got as close as he wanted to the other.

"We did say anything." Kaveh chuckled. "You did." Alhaitham corrected. The movie started playing and when it was almost over I felt my exhaustion hit all at once. Finally able to calm down and reorganize my thoughts left me drowsy. It didn't help that being cuddled up with these two was the most comfortable thing in the world. My eyes got heavy and I was out faster than ever.

Alhaitham pov

I noticed the credits start playing, and intended to change the movie when all I felt was dead weight at my side. I looked down at the sleeping body next to me and chuckled. Just like cat law, I was now stuck glued to this couch with two sleeping people. I got into a comfortable place and picked up my book and continued where I left off before getting a knock on the door.
