Anyway, it had been years since all of that. Dennis was pretty sure Mac didn't remember it. It only happened once. Sometimes Dennis wondered if it could happen again. Of course, if it did, he would decline Mac's advances. Or, maybe it would go differently. Dennis had completely forgotten how he really felt in that moment.

After Mac came out of the closet, Dennis started to distance himself. Everyone noticed it. Suddenly, it was like Dennis hated Mac. Really, he didn't, but he just felt so angry. It was like his feelings had become a mess of tangled chords, and he didn't know where to start un-tangling. Dennis couldn't come up with a good explanation for why he felt that way though. There was something he just couldn't quite figure out.

A lot of time passed. By this point they weren't so young anymore. But Dennis still felt angry. He knew why now. The problem was that he still couldn't say it. He wasn't sure he would ever be able to say it. Probably because he hadn't fully accepted it yet. But there was a little light, something telling him to just do it. And that was Mac. Dennis had spent enough time feeling bad for himself and pushing Mac away, so he started, ever so slowly, to let him back in. He forgot how much he loved him. Not loved. He couldn't think of a word for it. Anyhow, they were having fun again, like they used to.
