Maya woke up in her own bed, her eyes fluttering open to see a drip next to her bed with a tube sticking into her arm, she also noticed that her arms were covered in fresh bruises and open wounds.
"Your awake" A familiar voice said, Maya shifted her eyes across the room to see Lazarus at the end of her bed.
"How do you feel?" he asked.
Maya flinched as she tried to move her body to sit up.
"Like I've been in the war" She said sarcastically, Lazarus got up from his spot running to her bedside.
"Don't move" he insisted. "You need to give yourself time to heal" Maya ignored his words as she wasn't much interested in hospital or hospital related things, she turned and starred at the drip, Lazarus looked at the drip and back at Maya noticing her gaze.
"Everyone is on the drip, we've been at war for days your severely dehydrated" he said, Maya struggled to sit up on her own as her limbs were weak, suddenly her elbows gave way as she started to fall back into her bed, Laz reacted quickly catching her head in his left hand and gently placing her head onto the pillow underneath her looking deep into her eyes as she gazed back into his, Maya's heart began to race realizing that his face was awfully close to hers, Lazarus leant in a little further, their lips only centimeters away.

"Sir, a group has found Kala on the south of Wyvern valley" A soldier ran and rushed into the room interrupting Lazarus and Maya.

grasping their attention, both Maya and Lazarus snapped their head to the side the moment the soldier interrupted looking I'm dead straight in the face, Lazarus turned his head to look at Maya to check in on her and snapped his head back in realization.

"How far south did she go?" Lazarus said, sounding shocked.

Kala's shoulders drooped forwards as she rested her hands on her knees taking shallow raspy breaths, she had been running for days just waiting for her body to give up and collapse.

"Just give up already" she said to herself as she dragged herself forwards until her legs finally gave up as she collapsed to the ground.

Up ahead the sun was setting on the horizon in between the valley, her vision was faded so she couldn't see where she actually was, she shifted her head so her left cheek was pressing against the dirt, she could see a mountain next to her and something grey shuffling and moving around as she drifted off into a sleep.

Slowly wyverns began to creep down from the mountain curious on what it was and what it was doing so far from home, saliva was dripping from their jaws filled with powerful venom ready to make their move.

One Wyvern was close enough to Kala it began to breathe through its nostrils onto her soft skin, absorbing the smell through its glands, another only a few feet away was crouched, close to the ground and ready to attack.

Out of the blue an arrow was shot through the crouching dragon's head as a few of them scattered, and the ones who were really hungry stayed behind.

"There she is!" A soldier called out, three soldiers and Lazarus came out to Kala's rescue seeing how exhausted she was.

"I've got her, you guys take care of the wyvern's" Lazarus called out to his soldiers as he ran to Kala's side.

Suddenly Kala woke up, pushing herself up to the ground with whatever strength she had.

"Just...leave me...alone" she stuttered as she pushed herself onto her knees.

"We need to take you back; you need medical attention" Lazarus said.

"No!" Kala tried to shout. "Maya's dead, just leave me be" Kala felt tears rising even though she was all dried out.

"Kala, Maya's alive" Lazarus blurted out, not knowing how Kala would react.

Kala stopped in her tracks; she was too exhausted to create an expression on her face.

"Liar" she said.

"She is, I swear she is, she is at home on a drip resting right now, if she wasn't then I wouldn't know where I would be right now" He said, almost expressing his feelings to Kala about Maya.

"I'm not surprised" Kala said. "You love her don't you."

"Yes...yes I do" Lazarus replied. "And if she was really dead, I would defiantly walk straight into Wyvern Valley."

Kala lifted her head realizing where she actually was as goosebumps travelled down her arms, she also realized Lazarus's love for Maya but didn't respond to it.

"Just...get me out of here" she said with a hint of fear in her voice, Lazarus reached forward to grab her arm as her lifeless body collapsed into his arms as he caught her.

                                                                                           ***

Back at Maya's home, Lazarus sat outside near the pool guarding the house, just in case of emergency, looking up at the stars he began to wonder what his life with Maya would be like as she would make breakfast for him and he would hug her from behind, or just cuddling in front of fire, and perhaps helping her with grocery's.

"What are you thinking about so hard?" Maya asked as she approached Lazarus from behind, he turned around to see Maya in her Pajayma's but covered in a shawl to keep her warm, she was finally becoming hydrated as she was off her drip, the light in the kitchen and living room gave a soft, dull and warm ambiance as Lazarus thought to himself how beautiful she looked,

"It's just nothing" Lazarus blushed looking down on his hands, now remembering what he had said to Kala as he had a sudden flashback.

"Don't lie" Maya said softly. "I know when someone is lying."

Lazarus paused for a bit before talking.

"Well...there is someone I like, but I think..." He paused again, looking up at the stars then back down again. "I think I'm in love with her and to be honest it's driving me crazy" he chuckled softly, "I have the most insane vivid imagination where I can just picture hugging her from behind or just holding her while I'm on the couch, I don't know what to do with these feelings"

He said shaking his head, Laz had just realized that he opened his big mouth to someone he barely knew, yet he felt so close with her as if he knew her for a long time.

"I think you should tell her how you feel" Maya  said, reassuring him as she realized how much it was bothering him, but what he didn't know is that she was feeling the same, except she was still holding onto Mar, even though she had let go "I will always still love you" she thought to herself "Please forgive me for having these feelings" She placed her hand on Lazarus shoulder  and smiled at him.

"Trust me, you should"

Lazarus took a deep breath knowing that he wouldn't want Maya to find out through Kala, he was going to confront her about it, looked down and then back up, nervously licking his lips before looking at Maya dead straight into her eyes.

"I... I already did" He stuttered.

Maya looked at Lazarus with a shocked expression as Lazarus leant forward taking the opportunity, locking his lips onto hers as they exchange a long and passionate kiss.
