White tarps with a subtle bluish glow converted into the colors of night black. Jiyeon decided to take the crucial next step as accepting Joshua Hong's straight-forwarded offer might be the best option she had at this moment.

Time is a mischievous thief and with two days on the moribund clock got the woman taking every measure necessary.

Wearing a chic maroon button up strapless dress with a matching blazer, her left hand was kindly occupied by her date of tonight while the glorious moon broke through her slicky black hair. The only thing that Jiyeon truly aspired for was that she would not be left behind with any redundant regrets.

They settled down in an extravagant diner place, Joshua behaving as the usual gentleman while he pushed her seat to the back. 'After you, my lady.'

Both had much in common, Joshua deviously guessing all her preferences right except for the drinking part of course.

The gentleman took the wine glass in one hand, swirling it in subtle circles as he gazed at the woman in front of him. Thousands of spiteful thoughts were going through his mind, one of them being diverted to Jiyeon and taking his beloved daughter away in one swift. Yet he had to compromise his best friend's plan, lightly drinking the alcohol liquid.

Jiyeon on the other hand deliberately avoided his stares, setting her twinkling eyes on the bruschetta that appetized her hungry stomach. She held only one burdening question in her head. Will this man be the one who is going to push my daughter's biological father away forever?

A slight amount of doubt hung around, shaking it off her shoulders to fully focus on the conversation she was having with Joshua on his favorite music artists.

Telling her the story on how the gentleman had once sung Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 as an audition for his modeling career because they thought he looked like someone who could sing some excellent bars as well, Jiyeon slowly drifted into her own dreamworld.

Joshua noticed her absence from the scene almost at once, waking her up by slightly rising his clear-cut voice. 'Jiyeon, are you okay? Is my story that boring for you? My dating skills are really the worse.'

Evident dubiousness got Jiyeon to shake her head in milliseconds, awkwardly reassuring that Joshua was not the one at fault. 'I am fine Joshua. Things just have been a bit hectic lately.'

The familiar hum engulfed the two of them, Joshua encouraging the woman to continue elaborating her disclosed worries to him. 'I basically got in a pretty nasty dispute with the father of my daughter. The problems got entangled in one major spiderweb and I cannot seem to find a way out of it.'

Joshua gulped the sip of his white wine down his throat, feeling a scanty pinch of pity towards Aera's mother. However, in the end of the day, Jiyeon was the one who took this life-changing spark of joy away from the three best friends. 'Do not worry, I am here now to fix those so-called problems once and for all.'

Jiyeon shyly peeked up to meet his deer-like eyes, the twinkle in her dark orbs scaring the fright out of Joshua as she revealed her daring trump card.

Or rephrased, a time-ticking bomb that could explode any minute. 'I have hidden one more truth from you Joshua. You seem like an upright man and this new relationship is kind of a huge deal for me. Moreover, a compulsion. So, if you do not mind, can we get married tomorrow?'

That was a hugely blunt way to put a conjugality-related question in, Jiyeon's twinkling eyes not moving a single inch to experience the gentleman's reaction. And if that got the gentleman to almost spit out his bite.

Seungcheol would allow Joshua to do whatever it takes to execute their plan, yet this step could cause a tremendous landslide. They clearly underestimated how far Kim Jiyeon would have taken this bet, and on how perfectly the Butterfly Effect excellently works.
