For the first time in forever, Cupid was happy that the immortal entities could choose when they wanted to be seen or heard by the mortals.
If not, his yelling and ranting would have woken up everyone in the dorm. Zoya and her friend would not be able to sleep amidst his tantrums. They wouldn't be sleeping soundly as if two immortals hadn't just invaded their room.
Cupid knew he was throwing a tantrum. He didn't exactly care though. He had been so close...
So close to finding out what happened between Chris and Zoya for them to act this way. Especially for two friends that never stayed apart for long. What could have happened between them that one of them refuses to acknowledge the other? If Cupid could find out why, he'd be one step closer to understanding their problem. And if he could understand their problem...
Well, that would mean he was one step closer to bringing the couple together.
He was so close...
Cupid stomped around in the dorm room, groaning loudly and wailing his hands. But the dorm room wasn't big enough for him to move around as much as he wanted to. Which only seemed to increase his frustration.
He almost kicked the study table opposite Zoya's bed, only to stop himself at the last minute. No. Even with the shoes he was wearing, the pain wasn't worth it. Cupid placed his foot back down and straightened himself.
Finally forcing himself to stop for a moment, Cupid took a deep breath and stood in front of the entity that brought him out of Zoya's memories. Even in the darkness, the faint yellow glow surrounding the entity told Cupid exactly who brought him out of Zoya's memories.
Dream.
It didn't help that Dream had his stupid smirk on. And Cupid didn't appreciate being yanked out without notice either.
"Why did you get me out?" Cupid, all but shouted at a smug, yet fuming, Dream. An expression that only seemed to infuriate Cupid further.
Cupid didn't understand why Dream would be angry. Cupid couldn't find one reason for Dream to be angry at him. He hadn't even done anything for Dream to react that way. If anything, Dream should be celebrating for foiling Cupid's plans.
Dream wasn't above doing that either, especially if it meant that he'd win the bet. But for some reason, he was angry.
Dream crossed his arms. His tongue, poking his cheek - something that he did whenever he was angry. He normally would have found Cupid's tantrums funny. But not right now.
No.
He was worried Cupid might be cheating on their bet. Something that Dream didn't appreciate. Dream didn't say anything though, letting Cupid stew for a moment longer.
"You couldn't have let me stay for a little while longer? I was just about to get to know them!" Cupid sulked, pouting almost comically. He leaned against Zoya's bed post, rocking the bed slightly. Zoya stretched for a second
crossing his arms as he looked at Dream.
"Are you done complaining?" Dream deadpanned.
"Not really!"
And with that, Cupid went on a tirade of all that he'd seen of the couple. All the things that Chris and Zoya had gone through.
"They would have been the perfect couple!" Cupid's rant began. "Can you imagine how amazing and cute it would be when soulmates that grew up together, grow old together? But apparently, they want to be different. Because why make something like love easy when you can make it so infuriatingly difficult?"
