The Bakery - [Eric Singer x reader] (PT.1)

Another day at work, you knew that it would be busy all day, it was already making you tired. It was another Wednesday and some parents would obviously come with their kids to get them whatever they want.
Around 10 in the morning, it wasn't usually busy and sometimes you'd see a young man come in with his friend, you hoped seeing them today and turned out that it was the case.

As you were arranging the pastries and candies, you heard footsteps. You just had time to finish what you were doing that one of the two friends spoke up:
"Heya there, can I get a croissant and a black coffee with two sugars please ? It's for my friend." - you smiled softly and nodded "Right away Sir, you can take a seat right there while I make your order! Can I get you anything else ?", the taller guy thought about it and also ordered a coffee. You saw them sit somewhere and felt that the younger man was a little bit anxious, so you made the order as fast as you could, before calling them back: "The two coffees and one croissant are ready!" , the taller guy picked up the order and paid, winked at you and the younger guy just waved before they left.
You didn't really have time to actually talk with them since you had to work, but you certainly couldn't imagine what was gonna happen later..

Now, it has been 3 weeks since you last saw them step in the bakery and you honestly missed that voice ordering the same thing. That day was absolutely not busy, it was a Sunday afternoon, no one except few elderly people came to get cakes or pies to share with their grandchildren.

There was nobody in the bakery, no one in the café side and you were sitting behind the counter with your arms crossed and eyes half closed.
As you were almost falling asleep, the sound of footsteps woke you up. You stood up and looked at who was there, you couldn't believe your eyes, the two friends were back ! You smiled at them, noticing they were looking at you too: "Long time no see, glad to see you here again! What can I get for you this time ?" - the shorter guy seemed a bit nervous, he looked at his taller friend who shook his head to him and whispered: "c'mon Eric, you can do it.." - He eventually spoke up after taking a deep breath: "I.. I uh- would like a slice of this strawberry pie a-and a black coffee.. please"

A soft voice. He had the sweetest voice you could have ever imagined. You couldn't believe that the younger man placed his order, even if he visibly was extremely shy. You nodded and gave Eric a very comforting smile: "Right away dear, can I get anything else for your friend ?" you asked. The taller man slightly chuckled: "Just a black coffee for me please, and my name's Gene" - so, you knew their names now.
You made their order and called them once it was done: "The two black coffees and the strawberry pie slice is ready!" - this time, Eric stood up and came to pick up and pay for the order.
You just had time to notice how bright his blue eyes were and and long and luscious his blond hair was. He looked like a little angel, he had the most sweetest face; but to not seem insistant, you looked away, then looked back at him minutes later and smiled, a smile that got you a tiny smile from him: "Thank you ma'am, have a n-nice day.." - he waved at you and the two boys left with their order.

The day was ending and it was time to leave since your work shift was over. You put your apron and hat in your small locker, grabbed your bag and coat and left. You had two days off now, but you kept wondering about that shy sweet man, Eric..

On Monday, nothing much happened, you cleaned around in your flat and did some things.

On Tuesday, you woke up by someone calling you on your phone, it was your colleague. She told you that the same two guys from last Sunday came back to the bakery and asked for you.. you just couldn't believe it, Gene and Eric actually asked if you were working that day and you couldn't help but be happy. Having some news of them while you weren't at the bakery was the best thing you could ever have and you looked forward to be back to work the next day.
