The fourteenth series of Thomas & Friends first aired on television in October 2010 in the UK. Michael Angelis returned as the narrator. Nothing new to add for this season so with that all out of the way, let's review all 20 episodes of season 14.

Thomas' Tall Friend

A new Animal Park is being built on Sodor and Thomas is called upon to deliver a giraffe to it, while Percy is delivering leaves, Edward drops off apples and Gordon takes the Mayor and The Fat Controller to open the park. Despite Cranky's orders to wait for the giraffe's keeper, Thomas wants to show the giraffe to the children and leaves, but later runs into trouble when the giraffe will not follow his orders and lie down to allow Thomas to go under a bridge. Gordon comes from behind with the Mayor and The Fat Controller on his express. Seeing the giraffe blocking his way, Gordon tells Thomas to go back to the Docks for the keeper. However, Thomas thinks the giraffe will do what he tells him and goes to a siding to allow Gordon to pass.

When Edward arrives, Thomas asks him if the giraffe could eat some of his apples so he can lay down. But even after the giraffe is done eating, he still will not lie down. Edward is not happy about this and tells Thomas to go back to the Docks for the giraffe keeper, but Thomas still thinks the giraffe will do what he says, even after Edward crossly leaves. When Percy arrives, Thomas asks him if the giraffe could have some leaves, and Percy is happy to help his best friend. After playing with the leaves and eating them until there are none remaining, the giraffe finally lies down, allowing Thomas and Percy to chuff to the Animal Park.

But when they arrive, the Mayor and The Fat Controller are cross after waiting a long time. The giraffe will not wake up despite Thomas whistling at him and there are no more leaves for the animals in Percy's truck. Thomas knows what must be done and goes back to the Docks to collect the keeper. After taking him to the Animal Park, Thomas goes to get fresh leaves and apples to replace the ones the giraffe ate and returns to the Animal Park with them. He whistles with joy at seeing the giraffe wide awake. The giraffe turns his attention to Thomas, who gets his photograph taken with his new tall friend.

Few points I would like to make.

- That fucking Giraffe ate all the apples and wasted all the leaves. Thomas, maybe you should've gone back to the Docks to see the keeper instead of being an idiot and thinking you know best when you don't.

- At least the Animal Park returns in the Brenner era.

- Mr. Giraffe, Really Thomas. (Not Again).

Nothing else to say about this episode so it gets a 3/10

James in the Dark

Allicia Botti is performing at the Town Hall tonight and James has been given the job to pick her up, along with The Brass Band and The Mayor. However, James must go to the Steamworks first to get a lamp. When he arrives there, he finds the only lamp available is an old-fashioned lamp which he does not like because he thinks it will make him look silly. The workmen try to fit the lamp, but James still does not like it and leaves.

On his way to pick up the important passengers, he stops at a junction where Thomas is waiting. He asks James where his lamp is, but James cannot see who the engine is and says that lamps make him look silly, mistaking Thomas for Henry. James sees a Station ahead thinking this is where he is supposed to pick up Allicia Botti and the Mayor, but it is Farmer McColl and his prized Cow at Maithwaite. James cannot see who it is and whistles for them to get on board, much to Farmer McColl's confusion. At a junction, Edward also asks about James' lamp and James again states that lamps make him silly while mistaking Edward for Percy. James then sees a platform where he thinks it is where he picks up the Brass Band, but it is Farmer Trotter and his pigs at his farm. Not seeing who it is, James whistles for them to get on board, much to Farmer Trotter's confusion.
