The fifteenth series of Thomas & Friends first aired during March 2011 in the UK. This series has a total of twenty episodes once again and the usual cast returns for the show (yes Micheal Angelis is narrator again). nothing else to say so without further notice, let's review all 20 episodes of season 15.
Gordon and Ferdinand
The Fat Controller has given Ferdinand a very special job, he is to share Gordon's special, taking the Lion of Sodor from Knapford to the Duke and Duchess' Summer House for the summer. Gordon is less than pleased to be sharing his special with Ferdinand. When Gordon and Ferdinand reach the junction, Gordon decides to take the quiet track to the summer house so that no one sees him working with Ferdinand. But a little further up the line, Gordon comes across some workmen repairing the tracks and must wait. To Gordon's envy and pure shock, the workmen cheer for Ferdinand.
At the next junction, Gordon decides to take the track through Maron to avoid being seen. However, at Maron there are lots of people including Dowager Hatt and some children who admire Ferdinand, but not Gordon which makes him annoyed. Next, Gordon has another idea and takes the rickety old Fenland Track. Ferdinand is worried and tells Gordon to slow down, but his pleas are ignored. Gordon soon regrets not listening when he goes over a bump and the Lion of Sodor flies into the muddy marsh. Gordon realises that he needs Ferdinand's help, so Ferdinand goes to fetch Rocky. The statue is filthy, so the two engines take it to the Steamworks where Victor soon has it sparkling again. Now, Gordon has yet another plan; he wants to pull the magnificent statue along all the busy tracks. He also decides that Ferdinand deserves to be the front engine. When the two engines arrive at the summerhouse, the Duke admires Ferdinand and asks what his name is. Gordon proudly announces that the engine's name is Ferdinand - his new good friend.
Few things I would like to make.
- This episode suffers the same problem as the next two episodes, they drag on the plot for so long. Maybe explore other parts of this episode instead of just Gordon being Jealous of Ferdinand getting all the praise and attention. Speaking of Gordon and Ferdinand, they are such good friends that they never ever speak to each other ever again.
- Weird that we haven't seen a story arc span over since Season 6. A Friend in Need.
- Nothing else to say about this episode so it gets a 2.5/10
Toby and Bash
The Fat Controller asks Bash to spend the day with Toby and help do his jobs all around the island. By the time they finish, it is dark and both engines are tired. Toby knows where to go, so he takes Bash to his shed at Arlesdale End. Bash loves the shed because it is so peaceful and is soon fast asleep. Toby watches over him and decides that Bash would like to live on Sodor.
The next morning, the two engines set out looking for a place where Bash can stay; first, they try the Fenland. Bash is about to tell Toby that he wants to go home, but Toby interrupts him. Then a flock of ducks swoop down on Bash and that scares him. Next, Toby takes Bash to Farmer McColl's field. Again, Bash tries to tell Toby that he wants to go home when Toby interrupts. Then Bash is scared by a group of cows and runs off. Finally, they arrive at the cliffs that overlook the Search and Rescue Centre.
Bash once again tries to tell Toby that he wants to go home, but Toby interrupts him. Then Bash sees Dash and Ferdinand chuffing back home to Misty Island and Toby notices that Bash is sad. Bash tells Toby that he wants to go home. Toby is shocked and realises that he should have listened to what Bash wanted. So, the two engines race through the Misty Island Tunnel and out onto Misty Island. Dash and Ferdinand are pleased to see their friend and Bash explains to Toby that Misty Island is just as peaceful as Arlesdale End. Toby realises that there is no place like home.
