"Ma'am, we have searched everywhere, but despite our extensive efforts, we couldn't find the body. It would be best for you to accept that your husband is no more. We suggest you stop the search." The police officer spoke in a firm yet sympathetic tone.
Akshara stood still, resembling a statue, her face devoid of emotion. She simply nodded, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Alright. Close the case," she said, her voice hollow.
"No!" Muskan's desperate scream echoed through the air as she rushed forward, her face drenched in tears. "This case will not be closed! My brother—he's alive! He isn't dead, Bhabhi! You can't do this! Please tell them to keep looking. He's out there somewhere—he has to be!"
Kairav held Muskan back as she struggled against his grip, her body trembling with grief and rage. The police cast one last look at Akshara, then walked away, leaving behind an eerie silence.
Muskan's sobs quieted, but her eyes burned with fury as she stepped closer to Akshara. "I should have known. You never cared about my brother. How could you give up on him so easily?" Her voice shook, laced with accusation.
Akshara's eyes flickered with disbelief. "What do you mean, Muskan? Abhinav is gone."
Muskan clenched her fists. "No! He's not! You just chose to believe he is! It's so easy for you, isn't it? Because in your heart, it's always been Abhimanyu! You never cared for my brother, and now you've replaced him without a second thought! You're a liar, Akshara Bhabhi! Two-faced!"
"Enough, Muskan!" A sharp voice cut through the tension.
Abhimanyu stepped forward, his expression dark with warning.
Muskan scoffed bitterly. "Oh, of course. Defend her. Why wouldn't you? Now that the truth is out in the open, there's nothing stopping the two of you, is there? She never loved my brother. She was just pretending! And now, she doesn't even care if he's dead or alive!"
Tears welled in Akshara's eyes, but before she could speak, Abhimanyu stepped between them. "That's enough, Muskan. Not another word."
Muskan let out a shaky breath, her gaze flickering between them before she turned and ran toward her room. Kairav hesitated for a moment, shooting Akshara and Abhimanyu a conflicted glance, then hurried after Muskan.
Silence stretched in the air.
Akshara exhaled shakily and wiped her tears before walking toward her room. But before she could close the door, she heard Abhimanyu's voice.
"Akshara."
She turned around.
"I'm sorry," he said.
She shook her head. "You don't have to apologize. It's not your fault. I just... I never thought Muskan would say something like that."
Abhimanyu sighed, rubbing his temples. "She's struggling to accept it. She's in denial. But sooner or later, she'll have to." He picked up a glass of water from the side table and handed it to her. "Drink this."
Akshara took the glass and nodded.
"Where's Abhir?" she asked after a moment.
"He went out with Aarohi and Ruhi. He doesn't know about... this yet," Abhimanyu hesitated.
Akshara sighed. "I see."
A brief silence followed.
"You didn't have to defend me," Abhimanyu murmured.
She frowned. "Why not? Muskan had no right to say what she did."
"Maybe she didn't. But I still think... maybe she wasn't entirely wrong." His voice was quieter now.
Akshara's head snapped up. "What do you mean?"
He exhaled. "I mean, what if... what if I really am responsible for Abhinav's death?"
"Abhimanyu!" Akshara stood abruptly, her voice firm. "Don't ever say that again. You are not responsible for anything. We all know that."
Here's the modified and extended version with English dialogues and deeper emotions:
Abhimanyu nodded, but deep down, a lingering sense of guilt weighed heavily on his chest. No matter what Akshara said, no matter how much she reassured him, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was responsible. Responsible for the loss of Akshara's husband. Responsible for the pain she was silently enduring.
Without another word, he turned and walked out of the room, leaving behind a silence that felt heavier than words.
As he stepped into the dimly lit corridor, his thoughts spiraled—I know Akshara. She always pretends to be strong. She carries the weight of the world on her shoulders and never lets anyone see how much she's breaking inside. But the truth is... she loved Abhinav. His jaw clenched as he leaned against the wall. She loved him, and his absence has shattered her. Even if she won't admit it.
Inside the room, Akshara sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor. The echoes of Muskan's harsh words rang in her ears, but that wasn't what truly disturbed her.
Her fingers curled into the bedsheet as she whispered, "This isn't right, Abhinav. How could you leave everyone just like that? How could you leave... me?" A bitter chuckle escaped her lips, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "But then again... you were never really with me, were you? You never truly cared about my happiness. You just wanted to prove something to yourself."
Her voice wavered, but she continued, her words laced with frustration and sorrow. "You used your insecurities to trap me in a marriage that never had love. You convinced yourself that if I stayed, it meant I loved you. But that was never the truth, Abhinav. I never loved you. Not then. Not now. And I never will."
She exhaled shakily, her confession barely above a whisper. But what she didn't know... was that someone was standing just outside the door.
Muskan.
Her breath hitched as she froze in place, her hands trembling at her sides. Akshara's words echoed in her ears. 'I never loved you. Not then. Not now. And I never will.' Muskan's eyes darkened. Her lips quivered, but not with sadness—with fury. She turned on her heel, storming away, her mind clouded with anger.
So, it was all a lie?
Akshara never loved Bhai ji?
She moved on just like that?
She was right about one thing—she would make sure Akshara paid the price for every word she just said....
How did you guys like the chapter? I bet you don't like the Sharma siblings either, huh? Don't worry, because I'm making both Abhinav and Muskan negative characters, so if you're a fan of them... maybe stay away? 😒😂
Anyway, the Goenkas won't be spared either. They'll get their fair share of bashing in upcoming chapters! 😆 Do comment if you liked the chapter, and don't forget to vote! 🤭💗
Thank you! ❤️
