Sanzu stared at the therapist sitting across from him, her calm and empathetic expression not doing much to alleviate the turmoil in his mind. He fidgeted with his hands, finding it difficult to sit still in the silence.
After losing you four years ago, Sanzu's life had been a constant struggle. He had tried to fill the void with work, hobbies, and even meaningless relationships, but nothing seemed to make the pain go away. It wasn't until Akashi finally convinced him to give therapy a try that Sanzu had reluctantly agreed.
As much as he didn't want to be here, deep down Sanzu knew that it was the right decision. He needed to confront his pain and find a way to move forward. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and began to speak.
''It's been four years since I lost her'' Sanzu said, his voice cracking with emotion.''And I still can't believe she's gone. It's like a part of me died with her''
The therapist listened attentively, her eyes full of understanding. She encouraged Sanzu to talk about his memories of you, to share the moments that he cherished the most. As Sanzu talked, he realized that he had been pushing those memories away, afraid of the pain they brought.''We met in a rather...unusual situation...''
''I remember it clearly...we didn't get along at first...but as she began to stay with us...I started to like her...''
''I don't when...I don't know how...it just happened...''
''And I'm glad it did...''
''What else can you remember about, Y/n? Did she have any particular hobbies or just any special moment you have with her...?'' The therapist asked further
Sanzu closed his eyes as he tired to get lost into your memories once again.
''She was close to kids...a lot...''
''We were on a small holiday just the two of us...that was probably one of most precious time and memories I have with her...the fact that we were able to go on this trip together...we opened up more to each other...''
''We literally just talked about everything that had happened in our lives...and I was glad I was able to have those conversations...''
Sanzu took a small pause, trying to gather his thoughts, the therapist placed her hand over his and gave it a gentle squeeze, telling him that he could take as much as he needed to
''She really wanted to have a baby...''
Sanzu let out a soft chuckle as a tear escaped his eye
And so, with the therapist's guidance, he slowly began to open up. He talked about how he met you, the way your smile lit up the room, and the adventures you both had. The more he talked, the more the pain lessened. It was cathartic to finally let his emotions out, to honor your memory by sharing it with someone else.
The therapist didn't rush him, she patiently listened as Sanzu worked through his emotions. She asked him thought-provoking questions and helped him see things from a different perspective, but surely, it was going to be difficult for himSanzu had broke down once again, letting all his emotions run free, the therapist was gently rubbing his back to help him calm down
''I know that I can't bring her back, I can't bring either of them back...'' Sanzu said, his voice trembling with emotion.''But...I just wished I could see her one last time...''
''That's why I am here. Do you feel better now that you were able to talk about it more freely with someone?'' She asked, Sanzu took a few minutes to calm himself down
...
''I...do...thank you. I just kept all of this inside me...but...I feel...a little bit lighter than before...'' Sanzu offered her a weak smile.
''And I'm proud of your progress...'' She smiled at him
''You can book our next session whenever you want to, just know, you can always come to me for anything.'' She reassured him, Sanzu nodded
''Thank you'' He said
The therapist smiled softly and nodded, proud of Sanzu's progress. She reminded him that healing takes time, but with each session, he was one step closer to finding peace. As he left his therapist's office, Sanzu knew that this was just the beginning of his healing journey. It wouldn't be easy, and there would be many more therapy sessions to come, but he was committed to getting through it.
He realized that therapy wasn't a sign of weakness, but a courageous step towards a better and happier life. And although he would never forget you, he was finally ready to move forward and honor your memory in a healthier way.As Sanzu exited the office, he placed his mask back on and headed towards the car parked infront of the building. Ran and Rindou were waiting in the car to pick him up, so he got inside and took off his mask. Ran and Rindou looked back at him
''How'd it go?'' Ran asked, Sanzu smiled weakly at him
''Good...I'm starting to understand why Takeomi wanted me to start therapy...it's hard being like this...so...I'm happy that I listened to him...'' Sanzu's voice trailed off as he leaned back and closed his eyes, Ran and Rindou both smiled at him
''We're proud of you too, bro'' Rindou said, Sanzu looked at him and just simply smiled
''Senju is finishing up soon, let's go and pick her up'' Ran said as he shifted his gaze back to the front and started the engine
''What's Mikey up to?'' Sanzu asked
...
''Sanzu...while you were having your therapy session, Mikey received a video from an anonymous number...'' Ran spoke up, Sanzu looked over at him in confusion
''About what?'' He asked
...
''It was Maya...and other kids...she's alive...but they're hurting the little ones...they're put into these pods and there are wires attached to them...'' Ran's voice trailed off as his heart ached
This alarmed Sanzu now
''Mikey and Koko are trying to track down the number's location, but so far, they've got nothing...'' Rindou added, Sanzu's eyes were wide as he stared at them in shock
''I seemed like some sort of lab...'' Ran added
''We need to get home...let me have a look at that video'' Sanzu said calmly, Ran and Rindou nodded
And so, they were off back home, and making sure to pick Senju up from work too.
To be continued...
