INIKA's POV:
Gradually, my eyes flutter open to a dimly lit room. A throbbing sensation in my head and a dull ache in my neck remind me of my awakening. As I take in my surroundings, I notice the disheveled sheets on the bed and the fog in my mind begins to dissipate, revealing the familiar environment around me.
Memories flooded my mind with the speed of a bullet train, jolting me back to reality. A haunting nightmare resurfaced, replaying the chilling presence and the suffocating grip around my throat. An overwhelming urge to escape surged within me, yet it took a few moments for my body to respond, as if it had been struck by a car.
Finally, after what seems like an eternity, I am gradually regaining control over my body. It's as if a heavy burden has been lifted from me, allowing me to move with ease.
When I cautiously tilted my head to the side, I caught sight of the individual accountable for my predicament perched on the bed's edge, their back turned towards me. In an instant, I attempted to position myself on the headboard's edge, only to sense a sudden pressure on my right foot.
I still had that chain tied around my feet, the sound of which brought his attention towards me.
Thump thump thump, my heart pounds loudly, its rhythmic thumping echoing in my ears. Fear grips me as I anticipate his next move, unsure of what he is capable of.
While contemplating, our gazes unexpectedly intersected. He glanced at me, exhaling deeply with a sense of relief, causing the creases of worry on his forehead to gradually vanish and a faint smile to emerge. However, I remained perplexed by his response, unable to comprehend it. The only emotion I could discern within myself was fear.
The moment his hand went up, I instinctively recoiled, shutting my eyes tightly, prepared for a strike. However, instead of a blow, I only sensed a gentle warmth on my ankle. Startled, I attempted to shake off his touch, but the warmth swiftly transformed into a painful grip, and before I knew it, he forcefully pulled me closer to him.
AHHHHHHHH!
In that unexpected moment, a sudden kiss ignited a whirlwind of sensations. A warmth spread from the touch and a flutter in the pit of my stomach. However, despite all of this, I couldn't help but feel repulsed. Suddenly, I forcefully pushed him away, and I managed to succeed in doing so.
"Never, lnnie. Remember this." His hand, once on my feet, now forcefully gripping my cheeks, his thumb pressing into my skin. "You have no idea the fear that consumed me when I saw you like that. For a moment, I believed I had lost you...once again." His final words escaped as a mere whisper. "But rest assured, everything will be fine." A faint smile played on his lips, while I bit mine anxiously, unable to utter a word in response to all his bullshit.
"I've already put your clothes in the closet. Take your time to freshen up while I get dinner ready," he said cheerfully, acting as if it's a routine, as if we're a couple, as if he doesn't notice the restraints on my feet...as if it's all perfectly normal.
This infuriated me even further, intensifying my frustration and anger.
But what really caught my attention was when he mentioned dinner, making me realize that I've been here since morning when I left for work!
I don't have any idea about Neel's well-being? Is he okay? I'm so worried and anxious, not having any clue about how he's doing.
