Bing's Pov
When Saturday arrived, the five girls pitched their ideas to the director and our plans for them. To our surprise he hated the ideas and wanted us to rethink everything immediately.
Just kidding!
He loved the ideas and was wondering what Beep had in store.
"Oh, I...don't have anything yet."
"Oh, that's fine!" He smiled. "Would you like some ideas that some people did in the past? They could really help you think of something."
"Yeah. I think I'll like that." She smiled.
I had a special document of what people did for their talents over the years since this pageant first started." He snapped his fingers. "Give me a moment to retrieve and print it out."
As he went to do that, we decided to look over Beep's ideas.
"These are...nice Beep." Bo said with a frown.
"Only if by nice you mean terrible!" Becca cringed.
"Becca.." Blake said.
"I'm sorry Beep but they're just not good. Seriously? Talking about a book in front of a stage!?"
"Maybe you just play your guitar Beep." Boop said.
"Really?" She asked. "It's just been so long since I last played. I don't even think I can do it anymore."
"You'll have time to practice." I said.
"And you can go right before me!" Brianna smiled. "So we get two songs back to back."
"Not a bad idea Bri." Beep smiled. "Okay!" I'll be playing the guitar!"
"Oh that's wonderful!" Said the director. "In fact, what you, little Bri said just gave me an idea of what we should do next!"
"What's that?" Said Bentley smiling.
"Think about the order of course!"
"Oh right! How could we forget?" Bay said facepalming.
"What's the deal with an order?" Bing said. "It's just an order." I reasoned.
"This order when done correctly can bring a special feeling to the audience and boost how they feel about something and has them feel drawn to something. For example, if somebody just performed a stand up and the next person sings a sad song, will the audience feel so into it?" Asked Blake
"No.." I said.
"I think that's called 'tonal whiplash," Bao said.
"Yes and yes." The director said. "Blake said it best. We need to invoke a feeling and keep people drawn to it."
"I hope the word drawn doesn't get overused." I whispered to Bang.
"Well then! What are we waiting for gang?" Beep smiled. "Let's do this!"
"Yeah!" Everyone cheered and smiled.
At Beep's command, the ten of us ended up spending the rest of the time there planning when the five of the girls should perform. After a lot of discussion, negotiations, and checking if the girls were fine with it, we decided that
Becca goes first to put the audience at ease, Bo will then paint, Bay will go next and play a calming song to keep everyone listening, then Bao will do her baton dance. Next, Beep will play guitar and it will finish off with Bri singing Fancy,
"That sounds perfect if I don't say so myself!" I smiled.
"Great because I have to leave now.." Said Bao.
"Before you leave, Miss Bao, when will you be able to come for practice?" Asked the director.
"Well I work police shifts every afternoon at five so I leave work early on weekdays, so I guess every day after five."
"But come on Bao!" I said. "Isn't there any way you can get off early?"
"Well I do have some sick days I could use...after we get all the planning done which should probably be done by next week, I can use my sick days to not be a cop for the next week so I have all the time to stop by for practice."
"Sounds good!" Smiled the director. "Have fun today!"
"Bye Bao!" Said everyone.
"Serve justice to the victims!" Becca smiled.
She giggled. "I'll try!" She winked.
"I'd say now's a good time to leave as ever." Said the director eyeing a clock. "You're probably sick of hearing this, but it's a really big help that you're doing this. Thank you. Seriously."
"No problem!" Bentley smiled.
"Anything for the orphans." Beep grinned.
The director gave a proud smile too. "Just remember, by 2 weeks before, we'll basically be here every day!" Are you okay with that?"
"You bet!" I perked up!
"A-hem." Beep cleared her throat.
"But I'm sure the girls might have some second thoughts."
Beep smiled and got into a huddle with the girls. When they got out, not to my surprise, they were AOK with the plan and with that, we left for the rest of the day as everybody carpooled their way home, hopeful for what happens next!
