They went through plenty of friends and by now Zane was getting irritated. "Wait, Aph.. Don't Dante and Travis live together? Who would have Dante's number?" Aaron asked, leaning on her. "You're so right!!" She squealed, "I know just the person!" Aphmau's gaze met Zane's. "Aren't you excited? I'm excited!" She giggled. Aaron scoffed, smirking as he looked at her. Zane fiddled with his hands, looking away. "I don't know, what if he doesn't swing that way.. or what if he doesn't like me.." Zane frowned his heart pace quickening. "Do you hear yourself? This is your SOULMATE! He will LOVE you!" Aphmau reassured. Zane nodded, but something wouldn't let him forget the nervousness.
Finally, Aph dialed a number, and a familiar meifwa picked up. "Aphmau? Aphmau! It's been forever!" Said the voice. "Is that.." Zane started with a distaste look. Aphmau nodded, "Hi Nana!!" She giggled happily. "We totes need to catch up gurl.. but Nana... We found Zane's soulmate!!!" Aphmau exclaimed. Nana audibly gasped, "Who?!" "Travis! Do you have Dante's number? We can't find either of theirs!" "Hmmm..." Nana said thinking for a moment. Zane gave Aphmau another look, but of course, she didn't notice. "Oh! I have it right here! Let me send you it, call me when you have the time I missed you Aph" Nana said happily. The two ended their phone call as Aphmau began to call Dante.
Once she called it rang, and the trio waited... and waited... but it never picked up. "Try again?" Zane urged but Aphmau shook her head. "He could be busy! I'll send a text." Zane nodded anxiously.
"Hey Dante, long time no see! It's Aph, We were looking for Travis because.. well... We found his soulmate! Call back whenever you can" sent 10:34 pm.🕊𓅂
Travis was stuffing his face with tacos watching his favorite show when suddenly, Dante's phone rang. "Huh, Must've forgotten it before work... He was late." Travis shrugged it off, trying to continue his show but naturally his curiosity got the best of him when the phone made a "ding!" signaling a text was received. The white-haired boy pushed himself up, walking to the counter. As he read the text his eyes widened. "My soulmate? My soulmate?!" Travis said aloud in shock. Swiping up the lock screen he was met with disappointment. "Seriously? A password? Dante.. ugh" Travis groaned.
Running to his phone he went to text Dante, but then realized. His phone... was still in his possession. Face palming, Travis went through his contacts trying to see who would have Aph's number. But, he had no contacts from the group before. He sighed, going through all his socials. Surely someone followed him right? But no, Nothing. Even if he did find anyone's account they were all practically inactive.
"Why doesn't anyone keep up with the internet trends nowadays?!" He cried in frustration. Watching the clock go, he waited for his friend to return home. Minutes turned into hours and finally, at 2:50 am, The door trembled and then opened. "Oh! There's my phone" Dante said as he walked in, shutting the door behind him. He raised a brow to see Travis sleeping on the couch, "Travis? Wake up! Clean up your mess!" Dante said in annoyance.
"Huh? Oh- OH. DANTE! CHECK YOUR PHONE!" Travis exclaimed. "What about my ph-" Dante was cut off as he read the text. Jealousy struck the blue-haired like a lightning bolt. But he hid it. "DUDE! YOUR SOULMATE? Of course, you find yours before me." Dante rolled his eyes playfully. "Call them, call them, call them, CALL THEM!" Travis said excitedly. "No, It's too late for that." Dante yawned and stretched as he walked down the hall. "At least let me call her, please?" Travis frowned. "Dude.. She's probably asleep. Just get some rest." Dante paused for a moment before turning around. "AND CLEAN UP YOUR DAMN MESS." And with that Dante disappeared in his room.Travis felt his heart drop. "Are you serious? You're gonna make me wait? Until tomorrow?! THAT'S SO FAR AWAY!", The white-haired boy fell back onto the couch gripping his hair in annoyance. "Whatever." He finally sighed picking up his mess and returning to his room as well. Travis fell into his bed, excited and annoyed. "I wonder what she's like" He smiled, hugging his pillow. Finally, he fell asleep, dreaming of well... his dream girl.

The next day came, and Aphmau insisted on keeping it a surprise for Travis. They booked a trip, as Travis and Dante naturally had stayed in their hometown. Zane sat anxiously in the backseat of Aaron and Aphmau's car. His heart was racing as he messed with his sleeves and hands. "Zuzu, I promise.. it'll all be okay! He will love you! Like I love you, but more!" Aphmau smiled. Zane nodded, weakly smiling back but it quickly fell as he looked out the window.
Pulling up his mask, he leaned on the car door. "I hope he does." He mumbled to himself watching cars go by.
Once they arrived, Zane stepped out of the car along with the other two. His heart felt as if it were going to burst as he stared at the apartment complex ahead. "Dante said they'll be right down!" Aphmau smiled. They waited awkwardly until Travis and Dante came into view. Travis looked around excitedly and Zane could feel his heart drop. "Hey guys!" Travis smiled, hugging Aphmau. "Soo.. Where is she?" He said looking past Zane and at their car. The group fell silent, and Aaron gave Aphmau a look. "She?" Aphmau echoed. "You're joking, right? Yeah! He's right there, Travis" Aaron said chuckling. "Uh? Him..?" Travis said as he looked at Zane. Zane could feel his eyes burn into him as their eyes met. "Hello.. I'm... Zane" He finally said, his gaze falling to the floor. "Funny joke guys. Travis said with a frown. "What?", Aphmau said confused.
"You really think we'd fall for that, Aph?" Dante added with a laugh. Aaron rolled his eyes as Aphmau ran over to Zane. Forcefully pulling down his sleeve and showing Travis his wrist. The two looked at her with shock. "No, that's Sharpie. Isn't it?" Travis said in disbelief. Aphmau shook her head. Zane could feel tears well up in his eyes as he pulled away from Aphmau's grip. Without another word he took off, Ignoring them.
"Zane? Come back!" Aphmau cried after him, trying to follow her friend. Aaron stopped her, he let out a sigh. "I think he needs some time alone. Way to go Travis." the werewolf grumbled. "Sorry... I really, I just... I didn't..." Travis stumbled over his words. Aphmau and Aaron shared a look with a sigh. "It's not your fault, but.. You need to apologize." Aphmau said, looking guilty.
"He can't be my soulmate... He just can't be."
