Ravens pov:
As I was reading in my room, zoning out into my own little world I suddenly got distracted when I heard the sounds of sobbing coming from outside my door. At first I thought Robin got hot sauce in his eyes again or Star-fire saw a puppy die on Tv but nope, as I open the door with my mind I was shocked to see it was beast boy. His lips were all chewed up, his eyes were red and puffy and his soft green hair was all in a twist.
"What happened to you, weren't you supposed to be on a date." I asked. It took him a second to collect himself.
Through his tears he mumbled, "let's just say it didn't work out." His voice was even screecher then usual.
"Would you like to talk about it?" I offered.
He took a seat on the edge of my bed with his hands still shaking. After he collected himself he let out what happened.
"Welp, I was real excited for the night, I've been texting her online of a really long time now. We liked all the same movies, places and even the same food combos like cherry pie pizza. I knew everything about her and she knew me but she didn't know what I looked liked." He paused and covered his face for a minute. I got closer to him, putting my arm around him and rubbing his shoulder.
"It's ok, I'm here." I whispered.
"Whats there to say, can't you finish the puzzle? Once she saw me she ran." He put his head down. In that moment my black heart shattered. I had never felt bad for beast boy but this was different. Beast boy was the funny one, the confidence one, he never had any second thoughts on his appearance.
"I mean I guess I can't blame her." He started.
"I wouldn't want to date a disgusting green beast either. I mean just look at me, my pointy teeth, my green skin, my flabby stomach, my stupid hair, my screechy voice, my...
"STOP!" I cut him off. I gave him the tightest and only hug I had ever given.
"Beast boy listen to me! You are a hero, hilarious, handsome. Any girl would be lucky to have you and if that girl couldn't see that, then fuck her! I tried to tone down my anger when I said the fear in beast boys adorable eyes growing bigger. He hugged me tight agian and nuzzled his head into my chest. We laid on my bed for a few minutes, I whipped his tears.
"Thanks Ray Ray." I hated when he called me that but I was willing to let it slide.
"Wait did you mean that, do you actually think I'm handsome?" His sad face turned to a curious puppy expression.
"Yes I do." I smiled.
"How?! What part of me is handsome, have you looked at me?!"
"Yes and every time I do glance at you I feel a little light in my dark space.
