*June 24th*

"Mr. Kim, go to the office immediately." I'm knocked out of my daydreaming as I hear my name being called by Mrs. Im, our CEO. I save and click out of my editing section. And I make my way down the hall toward the office.

I quickly knocked on her door, entering when I heard a 'come in'. I close the door behind me and take a seat at the front of the desk.

"Mr.Kim, we have a new project for you; we'd like for you to write and edit a book and have it on my desk by next Saturday." She says this, causing my eyes to widen. Who in their right mind would think it's possible to not only write but edit a whole book in only a week?

"I know it sounds impossible, but if you complete it, we'll give you not only a raise but also a promotion." Oh no. I can feel myself slightly sweating as she stares holes into my head.

"Yes, ma'am, I'll be sure to have it edited and on your desk by Saturday," I reluctantly say with a big, totally not fake smile.

bad idea.

I can see her face lighten up as she smiles at me. "Great! I expect the story on my desk by the first of July." I take that as a hint to get out.

Great, it's June 24th.

I head back to my desk, packing my things and leaving. I started my car and headed home.

Sighing I sit down at my desk, turn my laptop on, open my writing notes, and just stare at the blank screen. I'm lost on what to write. I want to do something different from what I've already done.

I've done dragons, royalty, vampires, and fairies. What more is there to do with fantasy? Sometimes I think about what my life would be like had I gone to college for veterinary school like I had planned.

I changed my mind after I almost had to dissect a mouse. I'm deathly afraid of them, dead or alive. So that was a no-go. My parents were pretty upset that I changed my major from veterinary to English literature. They said it's a 'disappointment' of a career.

I flinch when my alarm goes off, in an attempt to keep my sleep schedule decent. I get up, forgetting to turn my laptop off, and head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. Getting in bed once I'm done.

I toss and turn for most of the night, nerves eating me alive for the project. A raise sounds great, but I wonder if all this stress is worth it in the end. I shrug my shoulders, pulling the cover up and over my shoulders, and finally start drifting off.

Chirping. That's all I can hear when I open my eyes. Keeping my eyes closed, hardness is felt beneath me. frowning, I open my eyes only to be met with the vibrant blue sky. Did my roof fly off while I was asleep?

Slowly sitting up and looking around, I see nothing but grass. That must be the hardness I feel. It seems I've woken up in a valley. Surrounded by hundreds of white cosmos.

A bluebird is sitting beside me, staring so intensely up at me. As I'm looking at the bluebird, my vision starts blurring, and I start getting short glimpses of a field of purple flowers. Blinking quickly, the vision disappears, and when I look back down, the bird is nowhere to be seen.

I'm trying to keep myself calm. I slowly stand up. Maybe I can find someone to help me. slowly turning toward the right and starting to walk, making my way forward. Hopefully, I'll find someone out here.
