Before we begin, quick reminder that this is an AU of Undertale Yellow and that this story contains spoilers for the proper game. I strongly recommend playing the game before reading this. Also, sorry for any and all errors. Without further ado, let's begin the prologue.
One day, an Undertale fan was playing through Undertale Yellow. They've just beaten Pacifist and Genocide routes, and are near the end of Neutral route. As they were about to enter final boss fight, they thought to themselves "This game is so good, can't wait for some AUs to be done with it. Like Underfell." and suddenly, they notice they got an e-mail from their friend. "Why e-mail?" they thought "We have Discord server and DMs." but when they opened the e-mail, it became clear why the friend send the message there. The mail read "Hi. I'm sending this via an e-mail because I needed to send these files, too big for Discord. I need you to playtest this fan-game (It's actually a mod but whatever) I made for Undertale Yellow, and give me some feedback on it. Have a good time!" and the files for "Underfell Yellow" were attached to it. The player downloaded the mod, replied "Ok. I will be sending the feedback on Discord.", and wondered, how did their friend knew they were thinking about possibility of Underfell Yellow? They brushed it off as a coincidence, since that's the only explanation, unless the friend had cameras in his room, which he wouldn't do. Few minutes later, the player finished Undertale Yellow Neutral route, and right away opened Underfell Yellow. Everything before the gameplay part seemed pretty much the same, except for the splash, which was fittingly changed to
The player began the game proper, and didn't notice much change, until the first Froggit. It looked like it escaped some kind of fire, and had low HP. The player had to decide now, which route will they take? They quickly decided, that they are clearly not doing Genocide route first, because final boss will put "hell" in "Bullet hell" for sure, so instead of attacking the poor Froggit, they decided to complement them. However, during monsters' turn, something attacked it, a fire projectile that on impact exploded into smaller flames, in similar way to Burnt Pan and Empty Gun in original Undertale. The player knew exactly what that meant, and indeed, it was none other than Toriel who attacked the Froggit. She explained to Clover, that monsters here are dangerous, and that they will be safe in her house. Aside from Toriel looking like Underfell Toriel, the two puzzles and lever breaking the floor went pretty much the same as in regular Undertale Yellow, taking Clover to Dark Ruins. The player went towards Flowey, and regular tutorial happened, except that Flowey mentioned very clearly this world is Kill or Be Killed and that without his help, Clover will not survive. "He seemed a bit more genuinely nice." the player thought "Maybe it's because we're in Underfell?" and saved the game, ready to enter Dark Ruins for real.
